A lot of American hockey players come from failed former hockey players. It ain’t uncommon my friend. Hutsons Dad is an obsessed Canadian hockey parent, his guidance of what to do and what not to do while developing his boys cannot be underestimated, same with Gauthiers Dad, same with Will Horcoffs Dad, although his dad along with young Perraults (NYR prospect) dad were pretty good Canadian born hockey players.
This isn’t the thread for this

Correct. Carter Meyer’s dad Freddy played for the NTDP back in the day. So another “nepo” kid but a second gen American power.
People will always complain about advantages that some athletes have and others do not. They have an impact until they don't. Meyer will be either the top player on the NTDP or somewhere in the QMJHL (probably Quebec) next season. He may not be a first overall talent, generational, etc etc, but he has all of the tools to project to be a great NHLer.

I have no issues with second gen hockey players. It’s becoming more and more there with how expensive the elite track is.

I still bang the drum for any kid that agrees to start his career with the NTDP should play 2 years. That's fair to the kids and the program. It runs me the wrong way when a kid makes an agreement and then shuffles north.

Stick to your word or don't come to the NTDP at all.

That being said, I'm glad to read all the positive comments about Meyer and hope he sticks with what he started.

I will be shocked if he isn't with his brother in Quebec next season
