F Anton Frondell - Djurgårdens IF U16, U16 Div.1 (2025 Draft)

He’s rated mostly 5th after the 4 in North America. I don’t know how he’s really fallen so much after being looked at as 2 or 3 most of last season. I guess the injuries and Schaefer and Misa have done well. Maybe they just have more potential, but I don’t know that I’m sure about that yet. I’m closer to he’s about to break into the top 4 than he’s not top 5.
I can't speak on the canadian players too much, but Frondell also didn't play great inbetween/coming back from his quintillion big and small injuries.
Assuming he stays healthy I wouldn't be surprised to see him get drafted in the 4-7 range.
Based on what I've heard and read most big outlets just seem to be cautious because of the injuries and not having seen him enough in shape this season. And the only one on his eliteprospects page that have him significantly low is eliteprospects themselves. They apparently have Ihs Wozniak as the third best swede and a first rounder, so I don't really know what their criteria is.

there's 1 % chance that Frondell reach that best case scenario. Stop daydreaming.

Frondell is no where close to Barkov/Toews status when they were prospects, let alone projection in the NHL.
Frondell is ahead of Backstrom, Kopitar and Zibanejad at the same age, so what is the point?

no he is not, stop the cap !
Well, but he is. Those guys were still j20 players at the same age except for Ziba, who had a very similar draft year, but without injuries and without same achievements in previous years

What do you mean?
He doesn’t look like he belongs in HA. His skating is pretty bad, he looks slow both in thought and act and he hasn’t been able to showcase any particular skill so far. He doesn’t look better than last season and he will likely be scratched when Eklund and Eriksson return.

Thank you, and some clowns here thinks he can be the next Barkov/Toews/Trottier :help:

That's not what you said though. You said that he is not close to Barkov as a prospect. Now, Barkov is somewhat of a special case, since he was so physically advanced, but Frondell is better than Backstrom or Kopitar at the same age and those guys are comparable to Barkov

So, he is slow, plays slow, and still scores at decent rate in HA? That is quite impressive 😀

Now really, he always was a standout in international games, this season is kind of rough one for him, injuries, rushed comebacks, missed camp etc. Don't be too hard on the kid

Both the two guys u mentioned played in their draft years wjc and even matches with the men’s national teams. Not really sure how u can say straight out that Frondell is better at the same age. That’s an opinion but definitely not a fact.

Yes because he plays and gets PP time (at least did for some games) for Djurgården. Do you watch his games?

This is rich considering you're refuting a best-case-scenario projection when you haven't even seen the kid play.

Anyway, laziness aside, I think it's funny how people are avoiding talking about how great he was at the JAWC and his elevated play with Djurgardens. Odd time to shit on a kid when he's playing his best hockey of the year.

He definetly belongs in HA, I only watch every game of Djurgården as a season ticket holder.
Doubt he will be scratched now with his hot streak and Eriksson apperently signed with Timrå for next season so that alone might put him ahead since Eriksson havent been as good as last year. Brodin also out longterm plus he clears Grewe and Larsson by a large margin IMO.

I think that by the playoffs he won’t get much ice time, but yeah Eriksson being shipped and Brodin out certainly ups his case.
