That’ll a bummer. Hopefully no more injuries for our players.

Too bad fircOharand..

In pre-season hos Sudbury Wolves lost their first game 5-2to the Sport...but hecwas not in the lineup.

In theirc2ndvore-season game hecwas a starter at LW on linex1 and got 2g and1a...and Sudbury won big .. he had 3voiubtsvofvtheirc7 scores.5

He also started again on line 1 in their 3rd game...butmustchave gotten injured early in the game.. go no pints as Sudbury won big again with 7 more goals again...But in both the Sudbury wibs thectop line centers and the Rw had big multi-piubt nights so probably he woukd have shared in their scorong in that 3rd game had he not gotten injured.

In the game he got his 2goals and assust ,his cebtervo tgectop line was Veteran Sacha Delicious.. In the next game he also started on the top line at Lw he had a different center ...Villeneuve had a hatty and an assist that night . SOi think Pharand would have gotten more points had he nitvgotten injured that game ...in both those 7 goals scored wins by Sudbury tge RW was the same on the top line (Keiron Walton) and he had multi-poubtsvin both games.

My ointbus...as imposed to lastc2xseasons where Pharand was 4th andc3rdbline checking center and no pp tome, this season he would seeinibgky be spotted as a top linevor top 2vline winger in a differentvrokecas a scorer.

He probably would be 1 LW *He isxa right shot so the off wing) Unless Quinton Musty is sent back to juniors...Sudbury played Musty at 1RW in theirvgamec1 of ore-season loss and Walton played the 1LW that game.
I think Musty eotgercstocks with his NHL club or pkays for their AHL team this season and is not sent back to juniors..

This should mean Pharand woukd get top line featured duty as a winger this seadon.

But not sure how bad his injury is or how long he will be out.

I noticed he's suddenly producing in his D+2 year significantly over last year (43 pts in 37 games from 30 points in 68 games). I know little about his game or if he could be a player but I do know that producing in the OHL doesn't always lead to NHL success.

So could he be a prospect? But my real question is how do things like this happen? Is it that he suddenly got better? Did the league get worse? Is he just getting more ice time? Better teammates? Anyone have any insight on this?

Between ages 18 and 19 can massive for physical development, especially if he put in the work during the offseason, which would help in the OHL.

He’s also 6’03 so it can take longer for those guys to get comfortable with playing at that size.

1.He is beiing given a bigger role this this season...on th vtop line with Keiron Walton and Kocha Delic who are having tremendous seasons. The lineup shows him playing RW not center.

2.Their other top 2 line features Quinton Musty and Nathan Villneuve ..and that means they get plenty of scoring from the top 2 lines ..

Sudbury win 10-6 last night over Kingston...Pharand had 3assists and was +3 ..but with such deep scoring many of the othercstar forwards they have had bigger production and scored the majority of goals for thecteMnreds.

So yes he is having his best season is but also benefitting from higherblinecand beytervlunemates and depth of the team situation..

He still is not a go to player but just a depth guy taking advantage of better opportunity with really good top guns..

But Hawks can always use a few more Big wingers...I do not think he gets chanceat Center with the Hawks except as a 4C checker. But size on the wings...maybe hevgetsxa chance as the size wibger for the 3d line ifvhe makes the Show with thecHawks..

Sudbury just traded with Ottawav67s forfor Henry Mews the dman ...andcalready Mews has caused an already good Sudbury offense to explode into even higher scoring.. Itvisxa team with a lot of D+1 and D+2 talent loaded up to chalkenge for a run to the Memmorial Cup ifv hey win the OHL Championship...

So Sudbury will scoreblots tgecrestbofvthecseadinand so Pharand should benefit and keep up his best year inthe OHL.

But he realkyvshine not onebofvthevyoungestbpkatersvun highestcstrscofvthevconsteljation of stars Sudbury has amassed with loads of OHL experience forvtjisxsesdon..They SHOULD be good..and Pharand benefits from that level of a deep talented team..

But I would not expect anything less given his bigger role, age and experience i the OHL and the depth of stars Sudbury puts out on the ice this season.

Not saying he has not improved his game this season, just that given the circumstances, none of what he has done this season is unexpected..

On such a deep team,He only would rank maybe their 5th best forward.I am happy he has seized his opportunity..but I would notvget too excited that he can be a significant transformer for turning the Hawks to
winners.
