The Cheevers bit never even occured to me. I thought you adopted this during COVID. IF I recall correctly, your "original" avatar was just Rooster. (One of the few JW movies I liked. Saw it in the theater. John Ford's The Searchers is a cinema classic, too.)

nope. Had this one for years now.

Many years ago , a decade ago, I had this one:

My current avatar is pretty self-explanatory.

I used the avatar pictured below since I joined in December 2012 until the Centennial Logo debuted because I like this bear better than Meth or Pooh Bear. And I actually like this logo better than the Spoked B. In fact, I think this logo is one of the best in NHL history.

I chose the “Boston” version because I just liked that one better. After the Centennial is over, I’ll change it back.

Meth and Pooh Bears have nicknames. How come this guy doesn’t?

Because he's a bear.

A real bear. Who does real bear things. Get a clue.

Beric Dondarrion from "Game of Thrones" He was a noble, self-sacrificing person on a show where they were few and far between. I need to change it soon.

I have never, ever watched even a second of that series.

However, if Beric Dondarrion was a noble, self-sacrificing git, doubtless they are few and far between. I salute you.

You might investigate,

Here is your contemporry hero.

Then again, as with The Sopranos, GOT, Breaking Bad, et. al., Succession (I've watched a few, unlikely to view much more), is essentially a well-cast, well written and produced soap opera.

I'm lazy and I bore easily. So, it's the PBS NewsHour, documentaries, and stalwart amusements like Frasier, Seinfeld, etc. that provide the "comfort food" I prefer. Regular season Bruins in November-December furnish the same experience. At its best, stand up comedy is fascinating, invigorating, real.

Check Bill Burr, Colin Quinn, Patrice O'Neil. Pryor, etc. go without saying.

LIfe's too short, and at present, anyway, too effing stressful.

Give me the first three seasons of MASH, Family Ties, Big Bang Theory, etc. and like Dick Cheney, I shall sleep very well at night.

As my brother Greg wisely advised, "Eat a peach,"

The happy genius of my household
Driving artistic influence of my younger years was the music of Danny Elfman. My lone tattoo is an Oingo Boingo smoking skull.

My avatar is a still of Danny from Forbidden Zone which is a whacked out ride of a film full of early Elfman works and written/starring one of my favourite filmmakers, Matthew Bright. Not a movie for everyone to say the least, but for the people it’s for, it is incomparably… Forbidden Zone.

I don't happen to love G.O.T. or any series where things are shades of gray. However, I did like the job Dormer did here. As for the other shows,I like most of them also, except for MASH, whose first three seasons where less trite than the rest but still trite.
I infinitely prefer sports to most other television for various reasons. "We do our duty, no."

I feel my curiosity on this would rebound on me badly. :D

Mine from the immortal Tuukka Rask:

We all knew that's where it came from.

How could it not?

I like to give the end-of-the-bench types a little love. had Kuhlman for a couple years, thought McLaughlin would see more time in Boston
The latter will. Bank.

I’ve seen many of you guys change your avatars, but when people changed their username, that just confused me. I didn’t know if it was an existing poster or a new one.

Well simple the greatest movie of all time Godfather plus I'm the biggest Donny supporter here. Cue the music.
Have you ever read Mario Puzo’s 1969 novel that inspired the whole saga?

If you haven’t, I promise that you’ll thank me when you have finished reading it.

“Book it.”

It is the jersey that I had Patrice sign during the 2010-2011 campaign. I met him after practice at Ristuccia, and he was in the passenger seat of Daniel Paille's car. He took a photo with my SO (girlfriend at the time, HOLY SMOKES) and was the nicest guy ever. I recently got it framed alongside a Cheevers, Neely, Bourque, and Orr sweater.

This is a great thread, I hope some other posters will join in because I puzzle over these things. Mine is self explanatory. My name is Carol but my brother always called me Caz.

I used to have a pic of my Bruins necklace, which I should go back to because I got it in 2011 as a gift from the company I worked with, based out of the Montreal area. I was constantly sticking it to them, getting them to buy anniversary gifts for me that were Bruins related. I got the necklace for 25 years and wear it every game day but wore it the whole summer of 2011.

It's funny because I live in Watertown, adjacent to Cambridge, and know Central Square well. (I used to, anyway. I used to do open mic @ the Middle East in the early 90s.)

I've been through Central Sq. to Harvard a few times since moving back to MA and into Watertown, but haven't seen P&S. I confess I only went there once, in the mid 80s. Wasn't TT The Bear's in Central Sq., too? That's how hazy my memory is.

The Rat, Spit, Narcissus, The Channel -- those I remember well, and, for the most part, fondly.

It's a favorite in this corner.

Richly deserved, served cold.
TT's was right beside the Middle East, saw a ton of great shows at both. The sandwich place on the corner was always my stop for a steak and cheese or steak tip sub.

God I miss being young

I'll take a look . Love the movie seen it over a 100 times.
If you ever wanted more from the movie, you’ll definitely get it from the novel. You won’t be able to put it down.

One of the five best books I’ve ever read. Hands down.

I can’t believe you’ve never read it. I can’t recommend it enough.
