My GF. If she ever finds out I use her pic as my avatar she would kill me.
Solid post. The version of this post that wouldn't be okay is one where we explain the avatars we'd like to assign to specific posters.
Ditto.I feel my curiosity on this would rebound on me badly.
The Cheevers bit never even occured to me. I thought you adopted this during COVID. IF I recall correctly, your "original" avatar was just Rooster. (One of the few JW movies I liked. Saw it in the theater. John Ford's The Searchers is a cinema classic, too.)
nope. Had this one for years now.
Many years ago , a decade ago, I had this one:

so, only two Ive ever had.
I got tix to his November show, fourth timeMy musical favorites, Dylan & Springsteen.
My current avatar is pretty self-explanatory.
I used the avatar pictured below since I joined in December 2012 until the Centennial Logo debuted because I like this bear better than Meth or Pooh Bear. And I actually like this logo better than the Spoked B. In fact, I think this logo is one of the best in NHL history.
I chose the “Boston” version because I just liked that one better. After the Centennial is over, I’ll change it back.
Meth and Pooh Bears have nicknames. How come this guy doesn’t?

If you're talking Springsteen I've seen him live 37 times now. I'm one show away from being considered a stalker.I got tix to his November show, fourth time
Beric Dondarrion from "Game of Thrones" He was a noble, self-sacrificing person on a show where they were few and far between. I need to change it soon.
Are you going to keep it for the upcoming season?
I feel my curiosity on this would rebound on me badly.
Mine from the immortal Tuukka Rask:
The latter will. Bank.I like to give the end-of-the-bench types a little love. had Kuhlman for a couple years, thought McLaughlin would see more time in Boston
Years ago, we had another godfather. His name was Jamie. He was a mod here for a while. He is no longer with us as he has left this earth, but he was a really good guy.Well simple the greatest movie of all time Godfather plus I'm the biggest Donny supporter here. Cue the music.
Have you ever read Mario Puzo’s 1969 novel that inspired the whole saga?Well simple the greatest movie of all time Godfather plus I'm the biggest Donny supporter here. Cue the music.
I have never, ever watched even a second of that series.
However, if Beric Dondarrion was a noble, self-sacrificing git, doubtless they are few and far between. I salute you.
You might investigate,

Here is your contemporry hero.
Then again, as with The Sopranos, GOT, Breaking Bad, et. al., Succession (I've watched a few, unlikely to view much more), is essentially a well-cast, well written and produced soap opera.
I'm lazy and I bore easily. So, it's the PBS NewsHour, documentaries, and stalwart amusements like Frasier, Seinfeld, etc. that provide the "comfort food" I prefer. Regular season Bruins in November-December furnish the same experience. At its best, stand up comedy is fascinating, invigorating, real.
Check Bill Burr, Colin Quinn, Patrice O'Neil. Pryor, etc. go without saying.
LIfe's too short, and at present, anyway, too effing stressful.
Give me the first three seasons of MASH, Family Ties, Big Bang Theory, etc. and like Dick Cheney, I shall sleep very well at night.
As my brother Greg wisely advised, "Eat a peach,"
I'll take a look . Love the movie seen it over a 100 times.Have you ever read Mario Puzo’s 1969 novel that inspired the whole saga?
If you haven’t, I promise that you’ll thank me when you have finished reading it.
“Book it.”

TT's was right beside the Middle East, saw a ton of great shows at both. The sandwich place on the corner was always my stop for a steak and cheese or steak tip sub. It's funny because I live in Watertown, adjacent to Cambridge, and know Central Square well. (I used to, anyway. I used to do open mic @ the Middle East in the early 90s.)
I've been through Central Sq. to Harvard a few times since moving back to MA and into Watertown, but haven't seen P&S. I confess I only went there once, in the mid 80s. Wasn't TT The Bear's in Central Sq., too? That's how hazy my memory is.
The Rat, Spit, Narcissus, The Channel -- those I remember well, and, for the most part, fondly.
It's a favorite in this corner.
Richly deserved, served cold.
If you ever wanted more from the movie, you’ll definitely get it from the novel. You won’t be able to put it down.I'll take a look . Love the movie seen it over a 100 times.
