But even then he deserved to go much higher than where he did, even without hindsight.

Type of talent that should have gone no later than the third round. Similar to Sean Day, some work out - others don’t

Roy has been the Best player in the game. Even better than Bedard in my opinion. He has been all over the ice, creating scoring opportunities and opening up ice for his teammates.

Thank God these players are coming for Canada - the late teen drafts were depressing as a Canadian hockey fan.

I think it is hard to put those kind of expectations on any teenager. A lot of it depends on how well Bedard rounds out the rest of his game away from the puck.

similar to Roy - lazy and fat.

He never really had a passion for the game and this is just speculation but I feel like he only played because he was good at it rather than he loves to do it. Goes to show just how talented Day is because of how far he has got without much improvement since ES days…
Roy however looks like he loves the game and wants to continue to work on his game and get better.

His brother passing away at a young age really took a toll on him too but that’s getting a little to deep into it.

A smart team/coach in the NHL who would draft him would immediately put him with top 6 players to shelter him and mentor him...

Dumb teams/coaches... ? I hope he doesn't get that treatment...
 
With 2 minutes left, it's hard not to be pleased with the Canadian team. I'd like to provide some constructive criticism but...

Just looked him up. He's about to turn 25 and he's only had 2 NHL games. It's a shame considering what could have been.

I just saw the Finns playing USA tonight... highlights

They lost 5 to 2 to the Americans...

Finns always don't play well in the early pre-tournament... though I am sure the US is improved from this summer....

Good for Germany by the way... Mannheim's program is a model and it seems to be pushing the other teams to develop as well... they could be a contender one day...

This is the weakest German squad since we have been back in the top division.

You don't want to get ahead of yourself...

Note I just drooled over Bedard...

Canada hasn't proved anything yet... not even close...

So I will parrot you and say "Canada is big.. and have one really good line and Bedard"...

"But will they improve and be a complete team"...

i dont think saying germany is above swiss and slovakia at under 20 now is being tricked tbh.. if i said there ahead of the czechs then ye maybe so.
