The Byram hate is a bit excessive here. Just a few mistakes in his first game in a year.

I've liked this game for Canada so far. Skating well. Obviously rusty but that's expected. Powerplay is understandably disjointed, and that will need to be a big focus going forward. Canada's size at forward looks to be causing problems. Dach in particular looks like he's difficult for junior defencemen to handle, though it hasn't translated yet. Byfield looks noticeably better than he did in the camp games. Pelletier has also been good.

I knew how good he was at stopping the puck, but I have to admit his confident puck handling has been an eye opener. This guy seems to have it all.
And he's headed to Nashville which always makes their goalies look good... what a combo!

These threads are often better than the game. The vast majority of posters are just trying to feel better about their NHL team's prospects and trying to run down other prospects to make themselves feel better. Every year it is a special kind of cluster&*#!@.
Wait till national pride factors into the group stage and beyond. That's where the real fun is.

It's just getting started...

Peeps are just shaking off the rust...

For the love of God, Russian hockey federation needs to invest into Canadian specialists to come over to train face offs in Russian hockey schools.

Same shit year after year, Canada creates tons of chances after winning offensive face offs

Askarov is not playing third... briliant move!

I don't know why exactly but it is usual for Canada to dominate face offs. And the Russians as well as Czechs are usually not very good in this discipline. Really don't know why because the practice of it must be very similar everywhere.
