I don't know how he goes out. With his size and reach he's strong in his own zone, probably our best PKer as far as Dmen go.

Matthews was #2 in Corsi too. 42.86% zone starts with 63.64% corsi.

Glad to see Matthews force his way up the lineup to be trusted with those offensive chances at the end of the game. Think it has to do with chemistry too but he's played great these three exhibition games.

He really has. Looks like a veteran already, he brings a 200 foot game.

Matthews had flashes and made some silly mistakes in the earlier games but this game he looked much more comfortable and showed chemistry with Scheifele when they were together. It'd be good if they stuck with that. Like Matthews-McDavid-Scheifele.

What game were you watching? Gaudreau was second to McDavid in ice time (for forwards). Him, McDavid, and Eichel (first line) had the most ice time among forwards.

What game were you watching? Johnny played the first 50 minutes of the game with RNH and Eichel, McDavid played with Drouin and Mackinnon.

We definetely dont have so much fun there and it bit tights up our hands imo. But our coach is like that so if guys are ok with it lets be it and we will see what happens. This will be the turning point for Jandac. he is able to prepare the team. Not sure if its enough to advance from group.

Looking at the zone start %s, we had far more starts in the offensive zone in general this game, it seems. The only ones that are especially low are Scheifele and Larkin at 28.57% each. Interestingly enough, both of these players were high in corsi too, with Scheifele at 69.23% and Larkin at 60.87%.

You could probably say that Larkin had a good game too

Gaudreau has been assertive, but he doesn't share well. Eichel has been too passive.

How on Earth could you come to that conclusion? He moves the puck quicker than any other forward on the team.

Slightly off topic but I'm pretty sure Patrick is considered to be a tier below.


And yeah, Matthews has also been improving rather consistently. He had several impressive plays and it's good that he got a goal as well.

Whatever needs to be done for the team. If Scheifele is the better fit at centre and McDavid at wing, do it. Scheifele is better on draws right now, like every young centre, face-offs take awhile to master.

McDavid is a modest, team first kid. If playing wing is best to help win, do it.

I don't and neither do most people I know haha. It just sounds terrible and too similar to Chechnya (as if people weren't getting confused already...) and also to the Czech term for "Bohemia", which rubs me the wrong way too. And the word looks and sounds terrible too
