I think Znarok is a good coach. The thing is, it's hard to get these players to mesh well, because most of the Russian forwards are nearly identical. Same strengths (stickhandling, speed, shot, creativity), same weaknesses (open ice players, two-way game, board battles, rarely crash the net).
Canada is the best by far because every single player on that roster is unique and each player compensates his linemates' weaknesses.
Kulikov and Marchenko aren't good at all.
Once again, I gotta agree with your analysis. Too many similar players. Maybe Russia should start developing other types of players.

As always we have Malkin trying to solo and outshine Ovechkin as the latter is always heavily favourised even though he never contributes in important games, resulting in both players being worthless. Same story for the last 8 years or so (when they are both on the same team).![]()
