What about Provorov and Sergachev? They've developed very well over here. As teenagers I would take them over some of the D playing for Russia.

Playing junior over here definitely helped their development as D men.

Well, Ovechkin is a great player no doubt - in NHL. He sucks in the national team. He did not suck in the national team before he left for NA, I mean he would still be a great player, but would adapt more of a russian style of play rather than the NA-style he has now, which doesn´t fit into russias passing play, his passes might be the worst ones on the team.
It's like the KLM guys, they weren´t great individuals in the NHL by themselves, but having them playing together made them awesome because they all had the same style.
Maybe we would have less players that would do great in NHL, but we would have a lot more players to choose from when trying to create players that fit together. I feel as if Russia is the team that suffers most from having a team this split on NA/russian style. Canadiens and americans have never experienced this problem and since the classic russian style of play is kind of opposite of how you play it in NHL, Russia suffers most from it.
Right now I find it hard combining pure NA-style Ovechkin with great passers such as Shipachyov etc. Totally different mentality.

Of course Ovie scores as soon as I'm about to press "Submit", but you get my point even though I feel that I could have been more clear :)

Still on the PP. Well I guess its good to get some PK practice in I suppose?

Once again, I gotta agree with your analysis. Too many similar players. Maybe Russia should start developing other types of players.

Stop being so interesting, I might begin to like a Caps fan...

Hey, give us a chance! I promise, a lot of Caps fan are like me. They just lose their mind when they see black and gold. I've lived for the past 7 years with a Pens fan as one of my best friends, so I know how to talk to you guys.

Indeed, Russia needs an elite player of each type, just like the other nations. Datsyuk is their most important player because of his outstanding two-way game and his ability to play many different roles.

Oh, i think they have those types of players.
They just picked skill over those types.

Russia has a grinder playing tonight. His name is Ivan Telegin, he wears #77. Have you noticed him at all?

Of course not, because he's no match for that Canadian defense. Team Canada is a bunch of superstars who are busting their ***** off as if they were 4th liners.

Serious question...

Does Ovechkin ever score a goal another way, from somewhere else other than that top left side one timer?

That could be fair. The game is far different, it's much more physical with less time and space on NA ice. European ice is more open with time to make plays and set up in the offensive zone.

People who complain about Ovechkin's office are the equivalent to those kids who complain about glitch goals in EA NHL.

It works, don't it?
