The list of defensemen, who looked like idiots playing vs Tarasenko, is really long. I bet, you will see a lot of big NHL names in it.
I missed most of the game as I watched Sweden/Finland instead. How did Nakladal look? I've liked his game in the WC and in Calgary before. I hope he can use this tournament to earn a new NHL contract somewhere.

They created at least one goal. They were not tearing the Czechs to pieces, but they weren't nearly terrible.
He wouldn't have to make those desperate saves if he was in position and wouldn't give up those countless rebounds that seemed to be there after every single shot.
But it was a good thing in this game. The team houldn't rely too much on goaltending. Playing in front of a shaky goalie is good practice.

They are playing for pride. Canada Cups didn't mean a whole lot either yet some of the best hockey moments come from that tournament. Give the tournament a chance, best hockey players in the world playing.
I disagree.
First goal was not on our D, there was a centering pass from behind the goal, our D tied up the forward in the slot and puck went outside, I believe Malkin was not able to handle it and the Czech defender ripped it from the blue line, it deflected off our forwards stick and went top shelf.
The second goal went in off our player skate. We were on PK and Marchenko was there on time to close the passing lane, but it hit his skate and went in.
The third goal was a slat shot from the point. Markov tied up the Czech player, but the puck hit him and deflected in the net.
I am not saying our defense is great, but to blame them for the goals in this game is not fair.
Every defense in the world makes this kind of mistakes. I'd inderstsnd if Czechs scored on rebounds or from the slot , but deflections and bounces are broken plays.
That said, I do agree we will have many more problems against better opponents

The comment above is the kind of comment that make me say the Ovechkin and Kuznetsov hate is ridiculous and out of control.
It's a ****ing exhibition game, the first game these guys have played in 4 months and you expect them to be dominant right away? Not every line has as much chemistry as Panarin-Shipachyov-Dadonov. But, if Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Kucherov find what works for them, I'm sure they can be not only Russia's best line, but also one of the most dominant lines in the tournament.

Because he can be a 1a/1b center earning a ton at SKA. In the NHL he'd end up shuffled around between 2/3c with crappy linemates.
Who needs Radulov when we have Telegin. LOL
