Fair enough, as I'm watching on a small video. Every time I watch Russia at the top levels (define that as you wish) they seem to be susceptible to such defensive breakdowns. I will say their defensemen seem to be the usual victims with a lack of mobility letting attackers slip around the edge.

Like growing up in Russia, are you considered a loser for playing defense instead of forward? It's amazing how absolutely terrible there defense seems to always be. And yet all those great forwards.

A bit, not quite like that.. but since we have had the KLM, the older generation of kharlamov etc. and then all the megasnipers during 90's and 00's and now people have mostly just had forwards as their heroes to look up to.
Fetisov mentioned this like a year ago or something like that that he/they/someone are working on creating a new mentality in Russia because as it is now, kids just dont want to be defenders, everyone is a good dangler etc. but they guy who just protects isn´t on the school yard.

Sobotka beat a defender down low with a good move but the centering pass was slow - you are right that Telegin is at fault as he did not adjust and get something on the pass - looked like a house leaguer. He tried to block the shot but that is always the case of being a better door than a window when you don't block it. Great shot though.
