Laine seemd scared or tired. Maybe he had too much energy spent in the first and now saved some. Hoping for him to improve in third.

Refereeing has been pretty lopsided so far and the Swedes seem to be getting a bit irritated by it. Rightfully so in my opinion.

I can't agree with Laine having been bad. He has actually been pretty good. even if he did miss that shot. Vatanen has been the worst of the Finns in my opinion.

OEL is such a stud.

Vatanen has been brutal on PP.

Laine looked horrible in the 1st period too. He's not prepared for the pace, speed and game of NHL elite players yet.

Karlsson with not-so-great shift there

PVRing this game to watch after work. To watch Karlsson really.

Thank God it's an exhibition game, first competitive game for most of these players. EK will come around when the real tournament starts, how are the Swedish forwards looking like?

Laine was meh this period but his first was great. Havent seen Jokinen do anything, true.

Laine had a good 1st period, meh second period, but we wasn't alone there lol.

2nd period shows what Finns need to fix.

Defense starts the play too slow, 1st passes are pretty mjehh so far.
Sweden with Canada are the favourites, they need to start a lot quicker and try to surprise them.

And they need to start treating Barkov as the #1C and have them start the powerplays.

Terrible? No he didn't. Had few good spurts and didn't look out of place.

I have no idea what game you are watching.

Laine looks like a giant out there. If he could use his size, he would be more dangerous. Lacklustre 2 periods. If Finland and Sweden continue to play this way, Kahzakstans going to kick their soumis'.

Did you just start watching in the last 10 minutes and then ignore the last 2 minutes after that?

Nah he has just been mad and salty ever since when people started to realise that Laine is better than Puljujärvi :D So obvious if you have seen hes posts before.

Its funny they talked about speed so so much but the offensive startup game has been as slow as ever.

Agree with this. Koivu does nothing on the PP.

They have been on ice for a week and it's the first game of the season. Sweden will be fine. Finland might be a bit young and a bit thin on talent for this tournament, though.

Twice he def backed off getting hit, seems to avoid contact a lot. Def looks a step behind. To be fair though, this is his first time seeing all top NHL d men.

I had the same problem at the Worlds already, Koivu is not a offensive specialist. We have other guys for that role, it's frustrating to watch Barkov line having to start their pp from their own zone time and time again.

yup. we need 4 more years to truly compete for gold.

Can't agre with Laine, he's made few smart plays/passes. All I see on that line is Laine and Barkov, Jokinen is somewhere missing.

3rd line has been the weakest, and would like to see Aho get a game there.

jokinen & barkov can't play together for some reason. been like that with the panthers also

Good to see Laine doesnt look out of place at all at this level. When he gets it going well see more

Laine has looked so-so at best so far. But really, kid is 18 and probably nervous playing his first game on absolute top level. He's gonna get better. Huge fan of him, once he gets warm in his clothes I shouldnt worry about him.
