Gotcha, so he's right up there with Dylan, De Niro and Cranston.

You really can't compare a comedic actor to a dramatic actor. Eddie Murphy is easily a 10 as a comedic actor.

And before you point out his bad movies, keep in mind how many horrible movies De Niro has been in despite being a 10 to you.

So you're actually serious.

{I can see the case for him being a 10 for movies even if I don't agree, but tv and music?)

This is an interesting but tricky thing because of the number of people who have been successful in one or even two of the three criteria and used that success to leverage typically short-term success in a third. Murphy being a prime example. In truth, he had one hit song, written and produced by Rick James. Not a lot of up-and-coming pop/R&B singers or up-and-coming comic actors going to get that benefit of the doubt when it comes to their music careers.

And yeah "acting" in the sense of movies vs TV isn't really different, although there are actors who have carried great success from one into the other and stumbled.

FWIW, traditionally, a "triple threat" in the entertainment biz is an actor who can act, sing and dance.

Are you seriously saying party all the time is not a jam?

Also, greatest SNL castmember of all time.

I'm saying that song is not enough to justify anything close to a 10.

And I'm aware that his reputation is that he was the best SNL cast member ever, and that holds some weight, but he had no longevity there and little else (anything else??) so no, I could not put him close to a 10 for TV either.

What's she done on TV? In Living Color is all I can think of. that's good enough for a 3. Her movie career is about a 4 unless I am missing something..

She's on a tv show right now. I haven't seen it so I can't speak to how good it is.

I'd say she's a 5 or 6 in movies.

He's alright but he's a bit of a one trick pony when it comes to singing. Kind of like Brian McKnight. Not much range.

As an actor he's really only good on SNL as a comedic actor. I've found he's horrible in everything else. Have not seen social network thoth.

Chris Isaak:

Movies: 3. Has been in a few films, most notably the Twin Peaks movie. Had a small part in Silence Of The Lambs.

Music: 7.5. Has released several albums and toured for over 30 years. Had a top 10 single with "Wicked Game".

TV: 4.5. Starred on his own show on Showtime for a couple of seasons. Had a guest spot on an episode of Friends.

Someone mentioned Rick Springfield earlier, who would have similar scores: low in movies, good in music (Jessie's Girl, grammy award) so-so in TV (General Hospital, small roles in other shows including True Detective).

Having learned that Kristin Bell had multiple Billboard top 100 hits from the Frozen soundtrack, I'd say Kristin Bell.

My pick:

Performing, music composing, and sketch writing as well. May not be a 10 musicially, but I'd argue he's created timelessly memorable and wonderful things in all three areas, while legitimately revolutionizing one of them (two if you cound comedy as a seperate area).

Btw. Tv and movie acting is the same thing to me. I consider actors who do stage work different then movies where you shoot till you get it right. On the stage there is no retakes

The one and only Angela Landsbury. She began with Gaslight in 1944 and has been in some classic movies such as Manchurian Candidate. I don't know if you count Broadway as singing, but yeah, Mame, Gypsy, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, she's a bit of a Broadway legend winning several Tony awards. Among other things, she originated the role of Nellie Lovett in Sweeney Todd on Broadway. She also sang the signature song of Beauty and the Beast with her version winning a Grammy for Best Song as well as an Oscar.

And of course, there is Murder She Wrote.

So yeah, I'd say she more than fulfills all criteria for a true Tripple Threat.

Rick Springfield:
Movies: 2 (couple of lower profile jobs)
Music: 10 (Jessie's Girl recognized as the biggest hit of the 80s, had a string of top 40 hits in the first half of the 80s as well as at least one in 1972)
TV: 10 (Paging Dr. Noah Drake...you're wanted in surgery).

That doesn't make him a 10 in music, he's a solid 7 if you go by the gauge I drew up.
