Rumor: Everything JT Miller | Elias Pettersson trade Thread

Canucks fans, out of curiosity do you favor immediate roster help or would 1st round picks and prospects be profitable? Is your goal still to make the playoffs this year or has the bumpy season changed priorities?

Personnally I would not sacrifice any years of Q Hughes signed to this contract but that s just me. I think roster help will come if Miller or Petey are traded Even if a third Team is needed to achieve this.

Yeah, nah.

Matthews or Nylander are the two Leafs I'd want to acquire if Miller or Pettersson are leaving.

can't fault you for aiming high but no.

Oh sorry I didn’t realize that nucks fans are still in the denial stage as if they have all the leverage and can wait for a trade they can’t refuse

The rest of the league is happy to watch the Canucks locker room implode

I can’t believe you think you can get a better player than Marner. Who are you aiming for, Draisaitl? Rantanen? Pastrnak?

Can’t blame you for aiming high but no :help:

Its because the Canucks need a centre back

Makes Sense, Hughes is Incredible. The jackets forum is going back and forth about going after EP40 but everyone is in agreement that most of our most attractive assets (Fatinilli, KJ, the Russians) are off the table so futures/near futures seem to be the best we can come up with. The best value looks something like Cole Sillinger, Ivan Proverov, Jackets 2025 1st, and MN 2025 1st. It probably leans more toward the future than you would like even if the value is close in an Eichel like framework.

When Marner can play center, we'll talk.

I'd turn down Rantanen too if Colorado were crazy enough to offer him for precisely the same reason. Both are fantastic players I'd love to have on the Canucks in a vacuum, but putting them on a line with Teddy Blueger or Pius Suter doesn't exactly make for a winner roster.

0 pts and a combined minus 3 for JT and EP40 last night. It obviously isn’t working out in Van for either player and the cost of that could be a missed playoffs and huge step back from their Cinderella season last year.

Have to think the pressure is building for Allvin to do something. So do something already.

I unfortunately believe that if they do trade EP there is a risk it could end up with a Eichel like return, but again if they find a third team to take the picks and give roster players to replace EP, it could work. For the record I would not trade EP at all ;)

I honestly hope so… I’d love to see the Leafs get into at least the conference finals
IMO the best roster we had was the yr we had ROR but this is the best coached we have been.
To be a true contender, I think we need 1 more gritty LW and a big gritty defensive D man, however we do have Hakanpaa and Jarnkrok who could fill those roles.

I would rather the Leafs steer clear of the Canucks' fiasco, and pass on both of Pettersen and Miller.

Mitch Marner is as good of a player as the Leafs have had, outside of Auston Matthews, for a very long time. I don't mind if they have to break the bank to re-sign him. There were many, many, many years that Leafs' Nation would have given our eye teeth to have a player just like him. The Leafs are better off with him than without him.

I favor keeping the players we have, getting everyone healed up, and pushing to turn the season around. If one goes, make it JT Miller and get pieces that help in the next three years. While I’m sure that EP and Miller aren’t best buddies, I have little faith media and gossip hounds are getting this right. Team has had injuries and has been losing unexpectedly. Millers absence is far more likely due to personal matters (hence full support from team). The media has been consistently wrong on Miller and reporting on team drama in past seasons, why would they start getting right now?

I know he's having a meh season but I don't think the Canucks will do much better than Zibanejad as far as getting a centre back in a Miller deal. Don't know why they seem to dislike him.

I can see the Canucks doing a quantity for quality sort of trade if they can get folks, plural, that are solid and durable. They don't need one super elite player in the deal, they need quality depth, plural on both D and a Centre. And reshuffling the team a little might reset the Canucks enough to get them really going.

Is Boston withholding salary on both of them, to the tune of several million? No? Then why would we want two players we didn't re-sign for free in exchange for Pettersson?

I wouldn't even mind Zadorov back, but it'd be for a pick or something because Boston concluded he just wasn't a good fit.
You want it, you got it, all you have to do is sign on the dotted line.

Imagine trading assets for players, letting those players walk and then paying more assets to acquire them again.

That's Benning logic.
That is admitting your mistake and being man enough to admit and going out and taken action to make it better. ..............Now for full disclosure is coming from a Bruins fan that was against the Lindholm signing from the beginning.

Lolol that's a no brainer for nucks cmon.
No brainer to decline it

Still patiently waiting for a reputable source to actually claim a trade or rift is imminent. Feel sorry for media at this point, giant goose egg for them.
