Rumor: Everything JT Miller | Elias Pettersson trade Thread

Miller is top 10 in league scoring over 5 years. Cozens had one year that got him paid. Not apples to apples so don't pat yourself on the back like you made a good point. Even this year miller is on pace for 80 points, a great player for 8 mill, and the offers for him are still garbage.
You were right. You don't understand.

The original rift was Horvat and Miller. This was as Benning was exiting. Now there was no rift? Sure. I seem to recall Canucks not wanting Miller during this timeline too. Regarding Horvat, the cap was finite and they ended up keeping Miller.
According to some posters there is a conspiracy among local and national media to assassinate the character of JT Miller who actually gets along great with everyone and it’s just a coincidence he is repeatedly at the center of rumored beefs between teammates.

Oh and when both a former teammate and coach go on record to confirm those rumors, they’re also lying.

I haven't seen this in the thread yet:

In an Athletic article about what a VAN/NYR deal around Miller could look like, two proposals were made, and the second one was Miller + Garland for Zib + Laf

I feel like that is an interesting proposal, I wonder what both sides here think of it. I have a feeling both will hate it, but have at yet

This has been out there in these threads before they got consolidated of some version of Miller for Zibs

Plus, this is happening because theyre admitting these two guys cant get along and we need to trade one of them. Plus, this is happening in season where trade partners and roster flexibility is limited.
Word is he couldn’t get along with Horvat either :sarcasm:

Curious. Having a discussion with a few friends and I’d like to know what you all think WPG needs to add to Ehlers for JT Miller?

Is this scenario against the CBA?,
Leafs approach Miller and say waive your no trade to come here and in the offseason we promise to trade you to the Rangers
Leafs then talk to the Rangers and work out a fair return that Vancouver likes.
So it goes down like this
Van trades Miller to the Leafs for a rental style return
In the offseason the Leafs trade Miller to the Rangers for a decent return and then the Leafs then trade that same return to the Canucks for future considerations.
Is that allowed?

Why would Miller agree

Why would Miller agree
He would get a cup run then get to go to the club he wants in the off season, the more I think about it, if its allowed its a win-win-win in that Vancouver gets paid twice, Leafs get a perfect player to fill out the top 6 and the Rangers get their guy but get to wait till the offseason when they have more cap flexibility

Cup run???
With Toronto…..lol

How about Pionk
Ya why would one of the best teams in the league make a cup run? Crazy idea.

Why are ppl saying miller wants to go to the rangers? Why would any player want to go there at this point? Especially one on the back end of his prime.

Technically, I don't believe there is any official rule against it. However, no GM would ever make such a trade because all it takes is Treliving or Drury to say, "Ehh, you know what? I changed my mind" and suddenly Allvin looks like the complete moron who traded JT Miller for a late first and a meh prospect.

Why would they trade him for less than Thomas?
OMG OMG!!! Olli and Turkey girl as the angry and wow emojis!!!

True, and injuries happen etc,
it was a nice idea if everything goes to plan

without knowing the exact clause that prohibits it, I can confidently say no, that wouldn’t be allowed.

If the leafs (and rangers) wanted to pull something like that off, why not just have TOR add to their initial trade to VAN, and then recoup some equivalent assets when they trade him over the summer to NYR?

I guess that could work, but it would have to be in draft capitol in an out
