*TICK TOCK*

The Flames have taken your playoff spot.

*TICK TOCK*

JT Miller and EP40's value decreases with each underwhelming game.

*TICK TOCK*

The Nucks haters are looking right that last year was a flash in the pan.

*TICK TOCK*

Tocchet is running out of scape goats to motivate his team.

*TICK TOCK*

Time to make a trade Allvin.
Tonight is the first time this season that the Canucks will have Miller, Hughes, Demko, Hronek, Hughes, EP and Boeser on the ice in the same game. We are not deep enough to deal with significant injuries to our best players, but are still right in the mix. I don't think anyone around the Canucks is panicking right now, nor should they be. They have more than enough space to add at the deadline and make a run.

A team isn't going to trade a player of Pettersson's quality for 4-6 months of a player and a "good-decent shot at signing him". Even if that player is as good as Rantanen and the team was a contender (which Vancouver hasn't been).

There needs to be far more certainty. And if Rantanen's a rental, then Colorado would need to add something substantial, which likely defeats the purpose for them.

The good-decent chance is what leads to discussion around a contract with Vancouver.

Unless the expected return is more of a rental archetype (like Guentzel or Hanifin) which would not even be remotely close to Pettersson, then the chance would have to be that Rantanen has already agreed in principal to a new deal with Vancouver.

That’s what I was alluding to.

Well, Hanifin to Vegas was a good-decent chance he would sign.

Horvat to NYI was a contract was already agreed to prior to the trade.

But even if a deal could be agreed to, Vancouver needs would be more at C and D, and as elite as Rantanen is, he's a winger.

Petey has shown chemistry in the past, but the last 60ish games (including two playoff rounds)... Quinn isn't even looking to pass to him. The play just dies on his stick, especially on the PP. It's not working anymore.
The front office knows what they have in Pettersson. There is no rush to move this guy for anything less than the biggest trade package we've seen post-pandemic.

So they just “lost their chemistry” but you think it’s permanent enough to justify a trade? TBH that seems like a creative way to frame a player’s dramatic decline in such a way that they will still be perceived as having high trade value.

Are you pointing this out because you’re wanting Pettersson for Dach and Matheson?

Provorov signed to >50 mil, Monohan, Cayden Lindstrom and maybe picks (or other less notable assets) for Petterson retained at 4%, Deshairnais, and maybe picks (other other less notable assets).

Book it. My annual deal guess

Vancouver gets controlled players, depth chart replacement too, and including one young prospect gem, Fantilli untouchable?, overpays to lure Provorov into the top 4.

Cbj gets cap floor and thing they’re missing due to this past offseason’s so unfortunate tragedy along with a tiny bit of salary relief potentially as a new prescedent fix for taxation/currency differences when trading a large contract from ca to na. They’re also able to move a guy in Provorov who they need to move.

Petterson gets raise due to tax differences, gets to be “the man”, for better or worse.

Win win win

No. Why would you think I thought that would even be realistic or that it had any bearing on real life?

We know from insiders that Vancouver is keeping all options open (including not making a move) and the positions they'd want to address.

Canucks are holding tight.
They will wait for Bedard’s elc to run out.
Bedard will refuse to sign and only wants to go to Vancouver.
Van trades Petey and pieces to Chicago for Bedard.
🫣🫣
NMC kicks in for Pettersson and he will not waive to go to Chicago. If he is going to be moved it is in the next five and a half months or not at all.

Nope. Nucks fans think they are going to trade EP40 for someone like Draisaitl.

The Canucks have all the leverage remember? They don’t need to trade him :help:

by the latest reports - if anyone is getting traded, its miller.

Its really just his turn. Right through this drama media has flipped back and forth between them to create new content.

Something about last games post comments from Tocchet made me think sales pitch rather than authentic praise. Might be wrong, just got a odd feeling watching him praise him and then Pete talks to the media for a change.
Its either he needs over gushing praise which is tiring or they are trying to pump his value.

We’re back in business after tonight, the rumours are going to come back for sure.

Oh sorry I didn’t realize the solution was right around the corner….

MAKE A TRADE. Ain’t no team going anywhere with their two top Centers emotionally unable to bring their best.
