Everyones overall thoughts about team Canada?

You sound like you're one of those people who always scream "SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT" on powerplays.

Offense isn't everything. While a team does require 1 more goal to in order to beat the opposition at the end of the game, they clearly need to play well at both ends of the ice to show what true dominance is.

They didn't need to beat down every team 16-0 because the other teams could hardly get 1 goal.

LOL. I never screamed that once and HATE people that do! :)

On paper there were better teams like 2002 and 1976 but this was the most dominant team I have ever seen. Controlled the pace of every game and never trailed at any point.
Just completely bought in top to bottom and played the best team defensive game I have ever seen. Some of the games may have been close on the score sheet but I don't think anyone who watched them thought the on ice play was close.

Perhaps had the USA scored three we might have scored four or Sweden three we might have scored six.

They didn't exactly overmatch Sweden and the USA. Not sure what games you were watching but you have a strange definition of competitive hockey.

Look at puck possession and time in the other teams zone. Like Babcock said does anybody know who one the scoring title and does anyone really care.

You couldn't score 3 against Latvia, what makes you think you'd score 4 against USA? :p:

I definitely agree with this. They looked really sloppy against Norway (who they blew out in 2010), and every other game was close-scoring except Austria. They dominated defensively and in puck possession, but all it would have taken was a lucky bounce for one of these weaker teams to topple Canada this year. I can't wait until a year from now when people can look at this team more objectively and realize it wasn't the best ever. Everybody is caught up in the moment right now.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Be proud of the gold medal but to make claims that it was "COMPLETE DOMINATION" is a bit much. A fluky goal completely changes the US and Latvia game.

Best defensive effort ever. Amazing collection of dmen, arguments could be made for best ever even on paper (for dmen only of course). Coaching also excellent.

Who would have thought Finland would score 5 against the USA?

Canada had better offensive players than FIN.

Of course they did. I was half joking with that comment but the point remains. A bad bounce here or there and the US game is very different.

I think Latvia would have scored 5 against the US in that bronze medal game. They were so flat.

But you have to admit they really minimized the chances of a fluky goal happening with the defense they were playing. Yes, those two games were close, but neither really looked close, if you get what I mean.
