Everyone should cheer for Team Europe @ the World Cup

Young Guns would be more endearing.

A bunch of kids playing the best hockey players that can be thrown at them. Especially considering these kids grow up huge rivals and enemies. Canada v USA at the WJC is generally the nastiest and chippiest game.

I'm rooting for these youngsters mostly because if they'd win, it'd ridicule the whole Canada and US & essentially underline how stupidly forced the teams are.

I would love if team north America won. It would enforce the point that you can make 3 competitive teams out of the North America talent pools.

Also they are gonna be one of the more offense first teams and it's better for hockey when exciting teams win in my opinion.

Would also change the players canada and the states take for the next winter Olympics. Canada doesn't want another 2006.

Yes it would be funny if a non-national team won what is presented as an international competition. I dare say that result would make it more likely that the Young Gunz return in the future though.
 
I can't decide if I want the joke teams crushed in the first round or if I want them to win it all.

Both options would humiliate the NHL in different ways.

I'm also torn between those two outcomes. Although if one of the gimmick teams wins it all the NHL will be more likely to think it's a good idea and bring them back.
 
My best case scenario would be the two gimmick teams going winless, and Canada and the U.S. both missing the Final. A Finland-Czech final would probably be the least desirable for the league, and hopefully might get them not to use this idea again.

This. Whatever result most embarrasses the NHL is the most desirable.
 
I'm hoping that Canada, the USA, Russia, and NA-U23 are all eliminated early, and the final ends up being Team Europe losing to Finland or the Czech Republic.

Indeed, been saying this for a few months. Very unlikely to happen, but the most desirable outcome.

Right. I'm still rooting for a NA23/Euro final - if only to see what they do about anthems, but that might give the NHL the crazy idea that Frankenstein teams are a hit and that they're still fully justified to refuse Olympic participation because they've got a replacement tourney.

Czechs-Finland would be pretty unattractive, and it doesn't encourage the NHL by indicating that the gimmicks were successful. European Leftovers vs Finland would be funny though.
 
Forwards B+ (underrated group)
Defense- C+ (only because of Josi)
Goalies- B (Halak will be great)

COULD beat USA and Czech Republic.
 
I think Team Europe winning it all would be the best outcome so we never see this sham of a tournament again.

Idk the nhl would probably want a repeat to win the next time if they lost.

Would be sad if they gave up on a tournament just because the north American teams lost tho. People say it's not a best on best because canada and the states have handicaps so maybe the nhl doesn't care.
