Is buying out arvy an option or trading his final year if he agrees
Yes to both. His buyout isn't bad either.

Bouch is making 3.9M right now. When you say "most" of our 10M in space is going to go to him, how much are you thinking? How much do you expect him to get? If they sign him to 10M, that's still 4.1M available, which should be enough to get Frederic to re-sign with us if we want to keep him - although I'd prefer using that on a goalie - Stu Skinner + for John Gibson please.never was an option.
Kane was potentially going to be traded now that he doesnt have a full NMC to make cap space and still could depends on how we end the postseason.
If Frederic works his way up and shows he would be more valuable to the team going forward than Kane then its still a possibility.
We have 10M in capspace most of which will go to Bouchard. There would be no money left to extend Frederic unless Kane is moved for prospects\picks. Everyone else making 5M+ has a full NMC
That was always a stupid plan. You don't replace a player like Evander easily.Kane was potentially going to be bought out. Now what?
It would add 1.33M of dead weight to our cap when McDavid needs a new deal. A possibility though if he isnt a fit with McD or Drai. We still need to sign Brown , Perry and maybe KlingbergIs buying out arvy an option or trading his final year if he agrees
we have 10M in capspace with Klingberg, BOuchard, Perry, Brown, Frederic etc not on the roseter.Bouch is making 3.9M right now. You basically said all of this in the post I quoted. How much are you expecting Bouchard to get in your assessment, is what I was asking?we have 10M in capspace with Klingberg, BOuchard, Perry, Brown, Frederic etc not on the roseter.
almost all of 10M will go to Bouchard with nothing left for others. 85M is locked up already and 95M is the cap next season.
2.6M of deadcap in 2026-27. The cap will be 104M and Henrique and Arvid will be off the books so not too bad. Although Walman will probably get around 6M.It would add 1.33M of dead weight to our cap when McDavid needs a new deal. A possibility though if he isnt a fit with McD or Drai. We still need to sign Brown , Perry and maybe Klingberg
Bouchard is looking for 9M to 10M per as per reports. Hoping for a lot less but expecting him to get 8.5M at the very least. We wont have the cap space to re up Frederic even with best case scenarios unless we trade away one of Kane, Walman, Kulak or Ekholm for cap relief. You basically said all of this in the post I quoted. If your choice is Kane or Frederic.Bouchard is looking for 9M to 10M per as per reports. Hoping for a lot less but expecting him to get 8.5M at the very least. Hopefully we get a bit more sample size of Frederic these playoffs. From his previous days and what we gave up for him there should be a lot more he could be adding to this team.If your choice is Kane or Frederic.
Kane >> Frederic
Good bye Frederic.
$4M out of ten is not "most."![]()
Puckpedia has 10 forwards and 8 defenseman signed on those cap numbers.Hopefully we get a bit more sample size of Frederic these playoffs. From his previous days and what we gave up for him there should be a lot more he could be adding to this team.
Not sure about what 4M you are talking about. You think Bouchard will get 4M next year? He is a RFA after these playoffs and will be getting more than 7M out of the 10M cap space we have leaving not much for others we may want to sign. (eg. Frederic, Klingberg)
In any case, right now is the time to enjoy the ride. will worry about next contracts once this ride is over.
It's good to see he still has it, but a buy out was talked about for sureThat was always a stupid plan. You don't replace a player like Evander easily.
