I don't understand what it's going to take for people to understand that while kane off the ice is a terrible person...Kane on the ice is an asset and not a throw away player. He isn't being bought out. Not only because he can't but because he makes our team better.

20 goal scoring power forward. He's a good player and well worth his salary.
His negatives as a teammate make him worth nothing, actually I think after his latest BS his value is absolutely a huge -

If he was waived I'm positive he would clear waivers and because the owners would hate for him to around top prospects order him to play in the echl.

In other words... he's full of spreadable cancer.

They would not, he has trade value so if they really wanted to part with him they could get something for him, he would also 100% be picked on waivers.

Hes a shadow of the player who scored 30 goals many years ago and hast shown anything to make that look normal. Hes also a colossal headache to his organization. Im not sure he has all that value in a trade with the exception of a bad contract coming back, which probably doesnt outweigh the minor propspect/picks in the deal

The player doesn't suck......

he has had a few off the ice issues.

I believe so---I haven't paid any attention to arbitration hearings......

IIRC There are two buy out windows---end of season to June 30th and if a team has multiple arbitration award cases in the summer they can do a buy out.

Wow that Kool Aid seems pretty tasty in Buffalo, for a guy making the kinda coin he is there is a lot of baggage and meh production. Secondly he can't stay healthy either.

Saying Kane "has had a few off the ice issues" is a joke.

-got run out of the Peg by teammates
-the whole holding stacks of cash selfie, looking like a DBag
-the charges currently against him
-the lawsuit against him
-Raptor Allstar Game, suspended

Not sure if I missed anything else but not a good track record

It's laughable there is even a proposal thread to buy someone out. Why does this even exist? This isn't a trade proposal or free agent talk. It's legit just a thread that says "hey you should buy out kane"

Yeah he clearly had a detrimental effect on Reinhart, Eichel, and Ristolainen last year.

A buyout won't happen.

If anything I could see Buffalo hiring someone to work with Kane and help him straighten out and grow up. It took Mike Keenan's approach to get Pronger on the right track. Kassian hit pretty much rock bottom last year and seems to be on the right path. I'm sure Chicago did a lot of work behind the scenes to get their Kane to grow up and last year seemed to be a pretty good reward to the team and him for their efforts in changing his course.

This summer has been a nightmare for Kane. It may be the solid dose of reality he needs.

I think we're gonna wait and see how the legal issues turn out. Ultimately if he leaves this team, I think it will be through the expansion draft.

And lets be real here, I don't like Kane as a person, nor do I like what he's gotten himself into off the ice, but lets not act like Kane is going to impress his habits or attitudes on the rest of the team. I'm not concerned with who he is as a teammate (at least here in Buffalo) so much as I'm concerned with his legal issues and how this looks for the franchise.

Yea just what Kane needs is to live in Las Vegas. Although I'm sure he would be the happiest of all the players leaving their team in the expansion draft. That is obviously not a knock on the organization or city of Buffalo. Just imagine all the Instagram shots we will see if this were to happen.

He was a 21 yr old kid who had just signed a 30m dollar contract and in the middle of a 30g season.

Has he made some poor choices over the years? Absolutely. But you're going to judge him based on something that happened 4 years ago? I mean what stupid **** did you do at 21? I know some of the stuff I did - all I can say is thank God that cell phones were not nearly as prevalent then as they are now.

Doubt LV would be any different then Buffalo in regards to whatever we see/hear from Kane.

I dunno his contract is pretty long and not cap friendly. Plus with all the issues I can't see many buyers. His contract would be decent giving his potential and what not if he didn't have the on ice issues. But I'd be expecting a little more from a player on that contract given his age and time in the league

Two years is very long

Laughable. He's a solid two-way who can score. His value is down but he'd be bragged in any deal without a bad contract going other way.
