"Good Bouchard" is firmly back, argue with a wall.
Not sure if you watched the end of the Calgary game, but imagine how fast shittyshoes would be in here posting how he sucks, no IQ, if it was Bouchard who turned the puck over instead of weegar to lead to nylanders empty netterHe's been fantastic the last while. Just like last year, he started shaky but finished elite.
Some big indicators is how often he's hitting nets, posts and juking with successs lately.
@shittyshoes must be losing his mind at the big uptick in his play
The fact that Bouchard is not on the 4 nations team and Sanheim is is a joke and shows you the power of perception!!I remember how brutal Coffey was his first season, wanted him gone so I have time for Bouchard.
The guy has the puck on his stick more that almost anyone playing in the game. He's bound to make some mistakes. The fools forget that and just say he sucks whenever he does make a mistake.5th best in the league for turnovers is incredibly elite. That's how you know to never believe anyone's "eye test". Top 5 in every single category measuring defensemen. We're lucky to have him.
I don't have the time or the resources to highlight the number, location, and type of scoring chance occuring when Bouchard makes his errors. I would love to have a side by side with the other top 10 possession defensemen to see what their turnover situations look like. The guy has the puck on his stick more that almost anyone playing in the game. He knew that if he shoots and that shot gets blocked it's a 2 on 0 going the other way. Connor probably should've one-timed it when he had the chance to.Drai can look lackadaisical so does Bouchard. That not only Bouchard's issue tho. He can be very indecisive. The 3 on 1 yesterday a prime example. If that was Drai in Bouchard position. That's a goal.
Bouchard doesn't have to shoot. He has the lowest % of the 3 if he shoots. Drai was wide open. Seth Jones took himself out by laying on the ice. @1:23He knew that if he shoots and that shot gets blocked it's a 2 on 0 going the other way. He hesitates a lot. He's indecisive. He's not confident. I think it comes down to him not being able to process the game at an elite speed.Drai can look lackadaisical so does Bouchard. You keep saying that he processes the game slow without proof. He hesitates a lot. He's indecisive. He's not confident. I think it comes down to him not being able to process the game at an elite speed.
When you watch Bouchard he takes way too long to make a decision. Players with elite IQ already know where and what they are doing with the puck before they receive it.
The recent Red Wings game might have been one of his best games, but we rarely see that level from Bouchard.
OkYou keep saying that he processes the game slow without proof.
He seemed to process it pretty quick when he did a toe drag drop pass to a streaking McDavid against the blues
The fact that you keep bringing his IQ I think says more about your eye test and understanding what’s going on, rather than Bouchard actually having low IQ
In crucial times too. Game 7 last 2 minutes burned into my brain as I was commentating the game live and it was all his fault we didn't do shit at the end of the game he wasted a loooot of time in our end with the puck and hesitated so much that we just ran out of time. I hope that experience is helping him get better but if I see the same shit again this playoffs well then.... shit.He hesitates a lot. He's indecisive. He's not confident. I think it comes down to him not being able to process the game at an elite speed.

They are good, but elite is a stretch. Of course you can pull examples of him making elite plays, he makes many, but he also makes a ton of bad ones and isn't consistent enough. When detractors say he is hesitant or slow to make decisions the first thing that comes to mind is his play on Connor's OT winner in Game 1 vs Dallas. From his stick to McDavid's in the blink of an eye for their first win in a conference final since '06. He was making plays like that throughout the playoffs, his offensive instincts are elite.
