BUT MAH EYE TEST SEZ

Ha. Stats also suggested JP was dominant and Nurse was dominant when with McD.

Bouchard is definitely a mixed bad of good and baaaaaaad this year.

Like come on ppl. Bouchard/Ek was fantastic the second half of last year.

Now ppl are saying because of "stats" he's equally good this year??

Puuuuuuuuleassse.

Edmonton's last 20 games:

Bouchard 3.37 GF/60, 1.6 GA/60, 67.74 GF%
Ekholm: 2.55 GF/60, 1.53 GA/60, 62.50 GF%
Nurse 3.28 GF/60, 2.97 GA/60, 52.50 GF%
Emberson: 2.64 GF/60. 2.40 GA/60, 52.38 GF%
Kulak: 2.83 GF/60, 3.16 GA/60, 47.22 GF%
Stecher: 1.89 GF/60, 2.52 GA/60, 42.86 GF%

In those last 20 games, Bouchard has the following boxcars:

3-14-17, team leading +14, and 71 shots on goal.

"Good Bouchard" is firmly back, argue with a wall.

Also backed up by the Bobfather himself.
(Eat shit, Spector)

He's been fantastic the last while. Just like last year, he started shaky but finished elite.

Some big indicators is how often he's hitting nets, posts and juking with successs lately.

@shittyshoes must be losing his mind at the big uptick in his play
Not sure if you watched the end of the Calgary game, but imagine how fast shittyshoes would be in here posting how he sucks, no IQ, if it was Bouchard who turned the puck over instead of weegar to lead to nylanders empty netter

Even bouchards assist in OT was a high skill subtle play

Bouchard is the new Draisaitl in here. Gets absolutely crucified for some "lazy" "uninspired" "sloppy" play in the first half of a season (remember how people use to say Draisaitl always sucked in December?) while still in the early stages of his career. Only to shut up all the doubters when it matters with elite play on the back half and into the playoffs.

If you want Bouchard off this team or don't want to pay him then you're an absolute idiot.

If there are 4 players on this team that should be off limits of any criticism it is McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard and Ekholm. These 4 bring it every single playoffs and we should all be lucky that these are our top guys unlike some of the "stars" out east in Toronto who are jekyll and hyde when the playoffs roll around.

Just a friendly reminder that Bouchard has outscored every single one of the Leafs wonder boys in his playoff career to date as a defence man. And he's done it going into much later rounds when scoring generally decreases.

Bouchard could be the singularly most frustrating player I have ever watched. In the playofffs last year he was all world. This year his guffaws are real, and they are spectacular. Hopefully he cleans it up.

Drai can look lackadaisical so does Bouchard. That not only Bouchard's issue tho. He can be very indecisive. The 3 on 1 yesterday a prime example. If that was Drai in Bouchard position. That's a goal.

5th best in the league for turnovers is incredibly elite. That's how you know to never believe anyone's "eye test". Top 5 in every single category measuring defensemen. We're lucky to have him.
The guy has the puck on his stick more that almost anyone playing in the game. He's bound to make some mistakes. The fools forget that and just say he sucks whenever he does make a mistake.

I don't have the time or the resources to highlight the number, location, and type of scoring chance occuring when Bouchard makes his errors. I would love to have a side by side with the other top 10 possession defensemen to see what their turnover situations look like.

I think it is a tough comparison. I would love to watch 20 games of isolation of just Zach Werenski or Charlie McAvoy or Miro Heiskanen to see what situations they create.

And I don't think people that question Bouchard's puck management should be considered fools. Personally, I don't think he sucks. I think his giveaways are pretty aggregious much of the time, and they didn't occur in the playoffs last year. I also don't think it is wrong for people to want him to play at that level before his next contract is doled out at 8 figures.

He knew that if he shoots and that shot gets blocked it's a 2 on 0 going the other way. Connor probably should've one-timed it when he had the chance to.

Bouchard doesn't have to shoot. He has the lowest % of the 3 if he shoots. Drai was wide open. Seth Jones took himself out by laying on the ice. @1:23
