He will score 30+ multiple times in his career.

I would prefer Kulak being his partner but him and Keith seem to be gaining some chemistry lately.

There are some warts in his game but that is to be expected. He is figuring it out and I see him going the Nurse route making incremental steps every year. Ignoring the rest of his game, his ability to get shots to the net is impressive. I am assuming that is where is expected goals for is coming from because he seems to be good at getting the puck to dangerous areas.

Evan Bouchard leading all Oiler skaters in TOI/GP through the first three playoff games. Maybe he has #1 D potential after all?

I don’t know if he has #1 D potential but based on precedents and cap inflation he definitely has 9.25M$ potential which could be a big problem. Holland has his work cut out for him in the next couple of offseasons.

Will they be able to keep him off the first PP next year? His offensive instincts and his shot seem to me to be impossible to ignore.
Already much better than Barrie IMO. The only area that he'd be a downgrade is in terms of making risky plays that lead to shorthanded chances IMO.

Yep, he really went on a tear after that comment, let's hope he keeps it up. Bad look on the first goal tonight, though.
Man, you really hate Bouchard. Dmen take time, so hating them and running them out of town is silly

The bouncing puck thing happens sometimes, but not taking the SECOND man (who eventually scored btw) after the bouncing puck fiasco was pretty bad. Keith and him both had a bad night overall, but have been good all series so far. Best of 3 now, with 2 games at home, so lets see what they do for the next 3. Overall Bouchard has been everything you'd want so far though for a young D man, I think we have a really good player on our hands here for a long, long time.

He has looked better than I thought he would for his first NHL Playoffs and especially in a physical series. He is going to be good for the Oilers for a long time. The perfection seekers will continue to register their hate towards him though.

Would be nice in awhile for this org to find a D like Durzi who constantly amazes, has far less help than Bouchard gets, and is taking the bull by the horns. Sure Bouchard gets the pts. he can't carry Durzi's jock strap in this series in terms of usage, making plays, and stepping up. The trade is looking good for the Kings now. Durzi is so good he could be a teams future D. PLaying with balls, playing bigger than he is, and more than any of the Kings D this kid is looking at Doughty being missing and trying to fill boots. Nobody asked him to. He took it on.

He got clowned in game 2 and 3 and Bouchard looked (really) good in the other games. The whole team didn’t show up last night. Swap the players and Durzi looks like ass on the Oilers last night too.

Nurse is supposed to be the guy, not Bouchard (not yet, anyways).

Edit: Durzi is also a year older than him, which makes a difference at their stage of development

Wtf are you talking about man? Durzi is -4. He has 1 point despite #1 pp time.

Aside from that blunder yesterday, Bouchard has been A+ this series.

Talk about other team envy syndrome.

Ill take Bouchard over Durzi all day

The Durzi that is a year older and was -5 in the series with 1 point going into yesterdays game vs. the Bouchard who had been on the ice for 1 GA total in the first three games (which was the Smith giveaway) who has 5 points. However, Bouchard can't even carry his jockstrap?

Durzi has been decent, with a very tough assignment, but that's a nice piece of hyperbole there.

Bouch should have made a better play on Moore yesterday, but if Keith does a better chip and LA doesn't get the fortunate bounce first off the ref, then a second bounce going over Bouchard's stick, the play doesn't even happen and the puck is likely leaving the zone. Lesson there for Bouchard is to be react quicker on the bounce and make Smith only have to worry about Danault and not Moore but acting like he's been some tire fire while Durzi has been a superhero in the series seems to overhyping Durzi a bit.

Durzi is -4 because he's playing players against the like of McDrai and Kane. Who fill the net with regularity, and he's playing out of role and spot due to the absence of Drew Doughty. How do you think Bouchard would fair trying to cover McDrai and Kane. I would say good luck.

Durzi is getting a much much tougher work load and QOC. He's manned up incredibly. if you just look at stat lines it might look like one thing. but Durzi play on ice has been ballsy, talented, and half a dozen times he's shaking coverage and working better shots with filthy skill. Durzi routinely walks blueline, protects puck well, and shakes defenders on the blue line. he does it several times a night while retaining possession. Durzi makes zone entries. its not a responsibility Bouchard even has to have. The amount the Kings are reliant currently on Durzi, and that he actually looks half decent out of it when thrown in the fire is remarkable.

I don't take exception to the notion that Durzi stepped up and played decent considering, but having a hard assignment and going -6 in those two games doesn't make those great games because the it was a hard job. Good for him though on Game 1 and 4 as those were decent efforts.

My bigger exception was the comment that Bouchard can't even hold Durzi's jockstrap. For instance do you think Durzi would put up 5 points with Keith as a partner and time on a second PP. (Isn't he getting 1st unit in LA right now so better teammates).
