Niko Minkkinen looks interesting defender first time seeing in national team. Mobile right shot 6'3 defender. Late 04 birthday so 2023 draft.
 


I was in shock Sale didn't score... 4 asssists and a goal against Russia. Might be something good here!
 
Plenty of solo efforts, when you go 2 vs 1, pass look easy goal and you go with feint against defender and own finish. Nice example of the half of the game I have seen.
 
Finn's up 3-1 against Czechs after 2. Sale with a goal (assist from Slavicek).. so those 2 are doing really well for themselves.
 
Good for Belarus.. I think they are using a NDTP type model and it's working at U18 level... maybe Czechs could give them a call and ask about this
 
With Michkov, Perevalov, Kantserov, Gulyayev (can't say why he didn't play, he was on the roster) we would have won the tournament for sure, but it doesn't matter. We had to win it anyway, and losing to Belarus was unacceptable. But is almost PPG in the MHL, but he didn't score a single point at the tournament. He's still 16 and some inconsistency is probably understandable. Demidov was 15 at the start of the tournament and still scored 2 points.
 
Czech classics. Before the match, a lot of talk about what must improve so that we can play the match again with traditional Czech shortcomings. And again, we look like idiots. Tournament after tournament, year after year. Of course, this applies to all categories.

Yesterday was almost funny...

U17 lost to Russia
U18 lost to Finland
Senior team lost to Finland

Then today...

U18 lost to Belarus
U17 lost to USA
Czech Ladies lost to Finland
Czech U18 ladies lost to Finland

HOWEVER.. our Czech U16 ladies beat Hungary.

8 matches... 1 win over Hungary at the U16 Ladies level and 7 losses at every imagineable level.

Being a Czech fan is not easy!

Czech hockey is dead and only thing czech fan can do is whining, its all he can do, czech hockey leaders dont give a single f about us. Former STB agent in charge of this beautiful sport what a suprise. Jagr supporter of Kral is total clown and he should never wear n. 68. There is no hope, year after year allways the same shit 2 months from juniors nobody is going to remember this fail and its going to be the same next year. We can't even produce players for Extraliga for god's sake, young players are just not good enough. Btw our u18 have only 1 win in last 17 games...

well sweden is in the same boat. czechs and swedes can mourn together. hopefully germany and switzerland becomes really good at hockey. would be boring with just canada, usa, finland, russia fighting for gold every tournament.

What happend in Sweden? You have shitton of players in NHL and hundreds of great players in Europe. You are like us 15-17 years ago.

We only have Hedman. 15 years ago we had 10 superstars. We have depth but not enough firepower to challenge for medals. Imo Czech have better forwards than Sweden, but Sweden have better d.

Krejci old, Hertl old, Voracek old and Pastrnak alone is not going to save us. You have tons of better players in SHL, ELH top scorers are all 30+ yo and we have no replacement in future once they are gone, we are basicaly Germany without top end talent. It would be less painful if Necas was center, because we need Hertl, Krejci replacement, but Canes want winger out of him. It will go drastically down its matter of 2 years i think.

Sweden is a punching bag in EHT. We dont really have many good players in Europe.

Hertl is not that old, he is 28. Zadina, Necas, Vrana, Pasttrnak, Faksa, Kase, Zacha...are in good age.
