Short Calendar November 04, 2019 (KNL SC 01)

Motion on disclosure of assets set for 2pm today.

If it actually goes ahead would be nice if some NHL fan with time on their hands attended...

Edit: Hearing at 9:30 am is for pre-judgement attachment of assets. Somewhat unique to Connecticut.

I’m sure it won’t be, but maybe the NHL has an interest in seeing it if it becomes detrimental to their image

I doubt the NHL cares. The only thing that makes them look bad is if the players aren't getting paid, the rest is Melnyk's problem.

No one is going to swoop in and save the day.

Well... seems Eugene is not the only NHL guy with some gambling debts to pay. EK65's mate Evander is owing some big dollars too.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the court documents state that Kane took out eight credits of varying amounts between $20,000 and $100,000 on or about April 15. The date would have fallen between Games 3 and 4 of the first round playoff series between the Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights.

100 P. Would have loved to have been in the room when Byfuglien threw his gear out and told him to beat it.
Buff threw Kanes gear in the showers while they were running, didnt he? That makes it 2x as funny to me.

Plaintiff's drop a 10 page motion (before exhibits) on Melnyk regarding the sufficiency of his answers.

Basically calling him a dick for not admitting that 185 pounds is approximately 190, and say that he is being "silly" in his response about his signature.

This will likely burn $20,000 of Eugene's cash at a minimum.

This is embarrassing for Melnyk's legal "team".

My favorite quote (as you mentioned):
"REPLY: This is a rather silly response. Either defendant (Melnyk) recognizes his own signature or not."

From the document above:

"Once again, the denial of this request for admission does not make sense because Defendant has admitted he executed the application (Request for admission #10). The difference between 190 pounds and 185 pounds is not material and is covered by the word "approximately". The request should be deemed admitted. "

It makes you wonder what we will find out about.

Watching Melnyk lose in embarrassing fashion is always fun, but this suit is small potatoes.

I can't wait to watch Ruddy's team take him apart and prove that the Lebreton deal fell apart because of Eugene's lies and brinkmanship.

I don't think it is silly, but it is serving its purpose. Melnyk's lawyers know what they are doing and I'm sure their strategy is all set. This is not meant to be seen as a defence for him, just stating that the legal profession is what it is with regards to this type of stuff. Some lawyers love these types of clients, others may not...but so long as the cheques clear (for them lol) they can pretty much do anything "silly" and have it work for them
