Heard from a few people Terrance will either play AHL or another pro league next year as NCAA is no longer an option. He's not NHL ready but won't be returning to Erie. Messier isn't back and was probably pursuing lacrosse and school. I'm not sure he was your typical OA so that's not really surprising. Also heard Sauder wasn't back as he was going to a good university in Ontario and playing hockey there. Thought he would have been a good OA as he had a strong year but maybe he had different plans. Erie can always trade for a decent OA as they usually aren't that expensive given they only have 1 year left and some teams probably have a surplus.Yes Terrance signed an ELC in April with the Ducks.
I've heard Erliden isn't happy here from a few people and doesn't necessarily want to be here for a rebuild, so we shall see.
There is also Frasca and we have to assume he'd he back, unless he decides another route and doesn't want to be part of a rebuild.
I could see Daviault being dealt prior to the season to keep Dylan here with Kayden and allow Sauder to be the top defender assuming Schaefer leaves.
I agree Messier will likely be kept as a mentor and someone who will protect...well...someone.
However, this team is going to be young and without a single superstar and IMO no really high end skill players.
I would think Jake Murray also comes in and perhaps 2nd round pick Tyler Cooper.
Outside of that, man...we better hope they sign a ton of one and done players headed to the NCAA.
Our top line could be Frasca, Challenger, Roysten we are in for a world of hurt (outside of import players filling roles).
I think there are a ton of holes to fill upfront and on the blueline. Erie definitely needs to grab some BCHL/ USHL players like they did last year because it looks insanely thin. On the positive side, look like Erie could be in the running for top overall draft pick again.
