PSV top of the table. But they have had a brutal January. Both Tillman and Pepi are going to be out long term and Lozano left for San Diego (which wouldnt have been a problem if they didnt pick up these injuries).

Still enough talent in midfield and attack, but they wont be running over teams like they were earlier in the season.

Go Ahead Eagles beat PSV in the SF of the Cup this week and they beat them again tonight in the league

Halfway through the league PSV were almost coasting to the title with 15 wins in 17 games. Since then they have completely collapsed and are one of the worst teams in the league with only 7 points picked up out of a possible 21, meanwhile Ajax have overtaken them and a win against lowly Almere tomorrow could give them an 8 point lead over PSV.
PSV still host Ajax on March 30 but they also still have away games at Twente, at Feyenoord.. Ajax, despite never really impressing, seem huge favorites for the title suddenly.

Ajax leading the Leauge by a wide marginal. Nice to see the sons of God back in track. Been some rough years. Farioli seems like a good coach.

Crazy, I've never seen a team choke away a title like that.

Real Madrid choke badly in 2003-04 when they lost 6 out of their final 7 league games.

"However, in their final seven games, in what turned out to be an astonishing collapse, Madrid lost six times, including a stunning 2-1 defeat to Murcia, who went on to be relegated. Los Blancos ultimately finished fourth, seven points behind champions Valencia"

I think that was the season we finished second, Rijkaard's first season. If I recall correctly we bounced from the Copa rather early, but then brought Davids in and made a minor tweak and then just took off. Also, Laporta's first season. Ronaldinho's as well. That was an excellent run, but things really took off the next season.

Actually, there was a very good documentary on that season. A lot of great behind the scenes stuff and a very turbulent year with the new board, though a very good year.
