I think you have this in reverse. Merino is a good 9 for Arsenal, but wouldn’t be elsewhere. Arsenal need a guy like Merino/Havertz/etc up there or they can’t run their system.

Honestly, not going to dunk on their lack of enthusiasm. It’s good sportsmanship that they did it.

I just hate the discourse on saying teams shouldn’t do it (which no one ever started with until LFC started winning again). Just glad it happened, but not because Arsenal had to clap

When Saliba does the Madrid, they’ll be happy to see him off (even if he wasn’t a youth player).

Classy or not, people have a right to feel how they want. He’s leaving a fan base who has been behind him even when he plays like he did today. They’ve a right to feel a bit jilted even if it is his decision to make. He also should know he’s going to get some negative attention. Especially when there are moments it has looked like he has been elsewhere this season

All I'll say about TAA is that again, you can't tell people how to feel. Go tell those people who went to Kiev and Paris that one of our players would go play for the other team. That's the light people are seeing it in. Of course they're booing, nothing's surprising about that. You can try to strip it of context 'they're booing just because he's leaving' but that is absolutely not true. His agent has also been agitating for him to be able to leave immediately after the season ends so he can go f*** off around the US with his new team.
