Horrible game for LFC considering the situation.

Alisson easily MOTM.

And Nunez I hope he is okay. We badly need him for the last stretch.

Don't look at the table now but...
Rest of the league is so bad they have a chance.

Brighton might have shot their load and I don’t think we are worse than Fulham, Newcastle and Tottenham. Need to stay healthy and keep momentum though. Getting Thiago back healthy is a must because Fabinho is going to kill them.

everyone else sucks though. this is a major help but we need to clean up between now and April

Everyone else sucks, and Liverpool have better attackers and attacking depth than basically anyone they’re logically chasing. That’s going to pay off in points if they can just hold it together at the back.

Just happy(?) it’s a weak league this year so they have a chance

They still had a match or three that they just threw away, but this squad was always better than it showed.

They pulled it off the year they got 26 of 30 down the stretch. It won’t likely be pretty, and I expect a few matches to still slip, but so many other clubs around then just aren’t that good.

I like some of the moves that Newcastle has done, and they’ve been pretty consistent, but I don’t think they have the sheer talent to get the points it will take. They’re still early in the process.

On paper, yes... But Liverpool has consistently not lived up to be the team they are on paper. The biggest hurdle for them to overcome is to have Salah, TAA, and VVD to play like they used to.

Tbh it’s more about fitness up front when it comes to the attackers. Jota hasn’t played all season. Diaz has been gone forever. When they add those two and Firmino back in, they’re going to be better.

Yes, they do need some of the other players to do more of what they’re used to. But they don’t need to be one loss over the entire season good to make a move up the table. They’re not a top side. But they have enough depth in attack to get consistent results if they are fit.

I mean it’s like be 13/14 where we have to outscore teams now. Need to win games 3-1, 4-2, 5-3, etc. the midfield besides Bajcetic is still a disaster but no one from 4-12 in the table is great so maybe that’s all the need

D.D. Fofana looks like a bit of a braindead player who might have individual moments of brilliance but has absolute tunnel-vision and can't utilize his teammates at all. But then maybe it's not fair to judge him in Chelsea's lack of system. Mason Mount looks like he's given up even trying now lol.

What I expect is for them to be slightly better next year but the problem with that is that it'll be hard to fire Potter if he's challenging for around 4th-6th place. I was part of giving him a chance earlier but the most concerning sign is not being able to get new talent to look decent because Chelsea will always be a club with a lot of roster turnover and need a manager who won't take ages to get them to play coherently.

I do find it sad though how many Chelsea fans have Stockholm Syndrome to Tuchel, likely remembering the first year of his reign rather than the last months which were as dour as Potter (but at least delivered some points).

Solomon getting into gear now. Great little player and he can finish with either foot. He’s coming off the bench, but have to imagine Silva gets him into the XI sinner than later.
He kept Murdryk out of the Shaktar lineup. Quite a little player, suffered a knee injury on his debut. Funny to think where Fulham would be if they didn't lose him early on.

I think some of the guys Chelsea signed like D.D. Fofana, Mudryk, Madueke, etc. are extremely talented but used to playing against much weaker competition week to week. It's going to take time to integrate them, especially when trying to integrate all of them at the same time mid-season.

The club is a mess. The veterans here for the most part are injured or aren't pulling their weight outside a few guys, and the rest of the squad is either brand new, really young, or brand new and really young.

Some PSG fans have the same mindset right now. Unbelievable.

Couldn't see it from my seat, but having seen the highlights Worrall got kicked in the face at the corner that led to the City goal.

Also have no idea how Grealish didn't get booked in that game, constant dissent, kicking the ball away, kicked out at Shelvey. Any one of those things is enough for a card, and he got away with all 3, he's such a petulant child when things don't go his way.

DD Fofana looks a lot like Batshuayi to me.

I don’t think Tuchel was a viable long term option, and his squad/transfer choices really showed a lot of that

but a lot of those results came down to injuries and the bench being azpi, alonso, sarr, saul, the shit attackers etc. tough
