yeah, I'm not sure he really realized it after realizing that it bounced off him back in for the o.g. I am not a gk so I can't claim to know if it really does change decision making for stretching out on the save. But seeing how the VAR has usually decided those are offsides, it feels weird to not call that.I didn’t see a good replay to know, but given how…communicative…Martinez usually is, he definitely would have been screaming for it if he thought there was a chance he had his vision blocked.
The fact that he reacted quickly also would undercut any claim that the offside players had an impact on him.
the issue is always the subjectivity of refereeing. what's a foul in one game isn't in another. almost every player goes down softly in hopes of getting a call. The refs let Saka get hacked at just as much if not more than anyone else in the league. He's been getting less calls than he should if anything. Definitely not going down as often as Grealish.
I mean he definitely goes down easy sometimes, as do most players. But I honestly think the refs have let him get beat up by defenders this year more than awarding him soft calls.the issue is always the subjectivity of refereeing. what's a foul in one game isn't in another. almost every player goes down softly in hopes of getting a call.
you probably watch more arsenal than I do, but whenever I watch them it looks like Saka is always going down at the softest bit of contact. Which is exactly what I saw with Grealish at Villa.
It was. He was down for longer than that and southampton were time wasting BEFORE he went down.Even 12 minutes of stoppage time seems low.
Ride out the season it’s a lost cause anyway. Then replace potter in the summer. Start fresh for the new season.Where do you even go from here?
