Highly doubt they buy anyone at this point. But if they did, who do they target? Not much going on in the LB position. The Bournemouth kid maybe? Wolves LB?
That’s why you pay Edwards and Hughes the big bucks. They need to figure that out. It depends on what they want from that position though. I honestly wouldn’t hate a guy that could CB/LB cover. Maybe you go to Holland for Slot’s old friend Hancko. Maybe you go Ajax for Hato. Those Dutch teams will put up a lot less resistance to a January move compared to the bigger European leagues.

I’ve said it before, you have to look at the window that Arsenal had in January 2023, especially considering the way this summer went. They need the three players they should have gotten in the summer. They need the cover defender, they need a midfielder that can cover ground, and they are going to need another forward if Chiesa is crocked

I tell you one thing though, I’d be keeping a very close eye on the Alphonso Davies/Madrid situation for the summer. Might be a foregone conclusion that he goes there, but that’s he’s going to be out of contract and there’s no reason to at least kick those tires.

Also vintage Salah goal. Good to see he can still strike the ball lol.
He had a big drought doing that, and has done it twice this season. This is a very good sign

Next week is going to be huge.

City @ Brighton
Villa @ Liverpool
Arsenal @ Chelsea

This could all shift around again

Then and there
Nice one-two between Vardy and Ayew for late added time equalizer for Leicester.

Unlucky for Everton's Beto that he hit the bar then Southampton score immediately afterwards and then Beto had a goal disallowed for slight offside.

Loved Soton's Armstrong movement in their goal, you couldn't even see him in the TV picture when the pass into box was made and suddendly when everyone else is static ballwatching, Armstrong appears from far away to meet the ball and shoot it home instead of waiting for it to arrive.

With today's results the bottom of the table got more tighter.

City without their best player, Arsenal already 7 points back.

What a choke job this will be if Liverpool doesn't win the title.
Bald Dutch manager replacing Jurgen Klopp coming into the Premier League saying I don't need any signings and winning it his first year would certainly be something.

Hato would be my target but if LFC had ambition they would throw tons of money for Alphonso Davies or Nuno Mendes

Also the referee (who I have never heard of, seen before, and still don't know) was very good in the Liverpool-Brighton game.

Just looked him up - name is Tony Harrington, today was only his 25th PL game (he's done 191 in the Championship). I also thought he was really good.
I thought the ref in the Arsenal game was good too

Gonna have to pull for Spurs in this one if we want to finish the matchweek in a Europe position. And hope the Ruud train keeps rolling later this aft

Tottenham set piece defence rears its ugly head

Btw this is why Arsenal fans bristle when Ben White is singled out for wrestling with the keeper...

I get it’s part of the game, but I have disdain for players being able to bump on and block the keeper. I don’t think it’s in the spirit of the sport. The keeper shouldn’t get a free run, but they also shouldn’t let players grab on him either

Grateful not to be a Spurs fan, if only because I would be unable to handle the stress of every single set piece conceded.
In my 30 years watching football I've never seen a team so bad at defending set pieces, and that's ALL on Ange

Yeah, and it's crap you only see in the Premier League, in the other league it gets whistled, and rightfully so.

I’m not sure why there wasn’t more objection to the contact made on Vicario.

But they seem lost on this plays and void of any confidence.
Your second sentence is the answer to your first. The physicality on Vicario gets lost in the sauce of their overall ineptitude - if they were even slightly organized on set pieces the contact on Vicario would seldom have any impact.
