Makar was pacing for 55 assists over 82 games in his rookie year. Hutson has now 54, alone for 2nd all time for a rookie d-man. If he doesn't win, the Habs hate is real.

Edit : alone for 3rd all-time

He's 1 point away from 2nd all time (Chris Chelios) and 6 away from 1st all-time(Larry Murphy). 9 games left.

Also Quinn Hughes (45 in 68) was pacing for 54 in 82 games.

Again....there is no race...

Celebrini and Michkov have not even be able to catch Hutson in points and we are at the end of March....

They are forwards and Hutson..a d.....

It s not even close at this point

But is it a points race? Forwards primary goal is to score, defensemen primary goal is to prevent scoring. If one is better at their secondary responsibility much more than their primary responsibility, is that award worthy?

For the record, I think the Calder should go to Celebrini. He's the best of the 3 all around.

Why play defense when you can control/dominate play in the other team's zone? The best defense is a good offense, when Hutson is on the ice the Habs really control play, is that his fault?

The same shit morons are shilling about Hutson is exactly what I used to read about Hughes lmao, literally almost word-for-word.

Hutson just reminds me of Quinn Hughes, as someone who’s watched every single Quinn hughes game.

He’s not as good as a skater, but just a way in the style he plays is so similar, you could tell so easily that he’s gonna be one of the best players in the league, anybody with eyes could see that.

Now, calm down, I’m not saying he’s going to be as good as Quinn, I’m just saying just the way he plays, reminds me of him
