it's hilarious that a couple weeks ago there wasn't a single sharks fan in the thread, but as soon as Celebrini has scored a few points in the last few games they're here trying to convince (themselves, I guess?) that Celebrini is the best prospect in the league. now watch him go a few games without points and they'll disappear again
Could it be because Celebrini missed 12 games? And you can't really talk about someone that isn't playing. Michkov and the rest of the rookies have a 12 game advantage and can't even take advantage of those games and give them a good lead.

Good news is that you can tell Michkov and Celebrini are both killing it based on how this has already gotten so toxic and it's not even two full months into the season.
It wouldn't even be toxic if everyone would just display an amount of jealousy that I have deemed appropriate. 🤷‍♂️

No it's because he had 7 points in 11 games and -6. there was nothing to talk about because there were Michkov and Stankoven who were PPG. in the last 4 games Celebrini scored 7 points in 4 games and +4 that's why you're here now.

You mean it’s almost like Celebrini is improving while still leading the NHL in a few categories.

What exactly do you think this guy lacks as a prospect?

This is a pretty nutty highlight reel for 15 games played.....

Probably because a couple weeks ago Celebrini had only played 1 game and Sharks fans were probably sure that the Calder was lost. But Michkov made this all possible.

Michkov EASILY better than Celebrini as we've seen every game with Michkov having incredibly poor puck luck and Celebrini the opposite. and then there's the head to head domination Michkov exhibited.

LOL at “EASILY better”. Some people just can’t help but use the silly exaggerations.

100% of Michkov's points count

What's your point?

How many Game winning OT goals does Celenbrini have?

Not as many as Crosby, Michkov, Kovy or Nash

I wasn’t aware those guys played with 3 on 3.

It’s absolutely hilarious to me that some people consider 3 on 3 goals on the same level as 4 on 4 or 5 on 5.

3v3 points shouldn't count, that's basically street hockey. If you are better at 5v5 you don't even need to deal with that nonsense.

/s

Of course it should count but when comparing OT records against guys who played OT without 3 on 3, there’s obviously a massive asterisk.

You must have missed the part where i said every game including the head to head.

Michkov should have 6 points more than he does from unsustainable low on ice shooting percentage and puck luck while playing mostly on the 3rd line, Celebrini plays 1st line every game and 3 minutes more a night with unsustainable high on ice shooting percentage suggesting he's 3 points over expected.

Then there's the eye test, if you watch the games, both players, it's immediately evidence the difference in IQ and skill level.

Celebrini is the better skater and that's all.
Celebrini plays with much better linemates and more minutes
Michkov has scores at the higher rate P60 despite that

He's just better and in time these Celebrini vs
Bedard vs Michkov polls will look extremely silly. Celebrini isn't on their level.

5on5 on ice s%, Michkov is at 7%, while lower than expected, isn't terribly low. Celebrini at 9.7% is at a completely normal level, as 55 forwards, with at least 200 games played over last 5 years, are at 9.7% or higher. 79 forwards over the last 3 years(100+ games played) are at 9.7%+.

Celebrini on the other hand has had bad luck scoring on the PP.

So while Michkov has had slightly bad luck on ES scoring, Celebrini has had terrible luck on the PP, it evens out in the end.

Did you remember to take away michkovs 2 games in the press box?

Celebrini .93 point/game
Michkov .83 point/game

San jose 55 games left.
Philly 57 games left.

.93 x 55 = 51.15 more points
.93 x 57 = 47.31 more points

51+14 = 65 points
47+19 = 66 points

And again that is with celebrini missing 8 more games then michkov if they finish the season playing all the teams games left.

So again, the michkov is miles ahead offensively doesn't make sense.

So nhl.com is wrong, michkov some how has missing game winning goals that only you can see?
Touche brother, i did indeed forget those two games and you made me eat poop for it

Respect

Michkov is pretty far ahead offensively when you take in context of p60 and xgf numbers with puck luck.

If you watch hockey instead of read numbers it does.

No one thinks Celebrini is as good offensively, no one serious
See, the great thing about this claim is that even if 80% of people think Celebrini is better offensively than Michkov, you can simply claim that 80% of people aren't "serious", and your claim holds!

I will concede that Michkov is a god of 3v3 hockey, no question. They do 3v3 in the playoffs, right?

Meanwhile Casey lurks bellow with a point per game in the AHL and still holding the most goals by a rookie defenseman this season in the NHL. He awaits the next season to return and lay waste to his enemies and hear the lamentations of their women.

Any Michkov fanboy making fun of fans of ANY prospect for being fanboys is hilarious to me. All of HFB prospect threads has been a Michkov clown show since 2023.

Michkov is undoubtedly in the race and probably the front runner. Posters claiming "AINEC" or that it's abundantly clear who will win the Calder, and that anyone who disagrees with them is not serious, are not serious.

Serious posters will say, damn, this is an exciting Calder race and with 55+ games remaining it'll be really fun to see what happens.

But I'm just an irrational Sharks fan who can't see the obvious truth. That Michkov is so far ahead in posts/60 that he's due for regression and over 1 goal per game incoming. Did you hear he hit a post?

My votes as of now are Celebrini & Wolf.

Most of Michkov's points seem to be coming on the PP while Celebrini is getting a lot more done @ 5 on 5 with a much worse supporting cast.
