Marchand doing his damndest to make sure this group of losers sticks together here.

The fact that these guys are ok with losing to such a disgusting puke like Marchand shows there is no motivating them.

Any non coward with heart would've stapled Marchand's face to their gym/watched his trolling before every on ice session and came back a killer the following season.

Our losers were ok losing to this guy 4 times.

Personally I don't think any of them really made much progress as players.

Matthews didn't get any faster, add a back hand, add a clapper or become some physical behemoth like Knies. Great hands and great shot, that's it.

Marner the same thing, still a twig, still a bad shot, still scared/soft and arrogant. Good motor at times and good passes at times.

Nylander became a more refined version I'll give him that, but he's just a lazy guy, no shows many games, laziness in the defensive zone. He has higher compete at times and then he does stupid stuff and no shows.

Tavares just got old lol

For anyone thinking this is the last straw for this group and MLSE is going to clean house this summer, according to reporting they offered Mitch an 8-year extension this year and he didn't want to sign.

They absolutely will bring him back if he wants to come back, JT too if he's willing to come back at the right price. They'll probably let Shanahan walk as the sacrificial lamb, so it looks like they're making bold moves but MLSE will absolutely quadruple down on this core if they can.

If marner/matthews/rielly etc are still here next season, I won’t watch a single game. Enough is enough. Tired of mlse trying to do the same things but expecting different results. They don’t understand by now that they will never win anything with these losers?

Actually I think you have it reversed.

A tomahawk steak is an overpriced, over glamorized ribeye with unnecessary dead weight.

A championship team is a delicious ribeye but you have enough left over for sides for a complete and satisfying meal.

Why throw them a bone? They haven't earned it. I think the message there was that this was on them... the ultimate and final test. They failed epically. Decisions made.

I can see Marner and JT not coming back, Matthews having some sort of surgery and missing half the season, the rest of the team floundering and them missing the playoffs. Fck, that almost sounds refreshing lol
