Even taking the rising cap into account Boeser has contract expectations that are out of touch with what he’s going to be offered. He should have accepted the 40 mil Van offered; he might have to accept less come July 1.

Just never know. He could take a lower AAV but get another 2 years on the contract. $7.5 mill AAV over 7 is $52.5 mill, thus $12.5 mill more. Plus, NHL contracts are guaranteed, so with buyout at 2/3 that locks in $8.35 roughly as fully guaranteed upon signing basically (assuming straight salary and no bonuses). Because at age 33, he likely wouldn't get more than what he gets now at age 28 on an AAV.

That's likely Guerin's plan. They won't need to trade Rossi to do that. The Suter / Parise contracts come off the books at the end of the season. Going to free up 15 mil.

Management hasn’t really been a fan of his since they got here. Even after Brock scored 40 last season Allvin questioned his compete level. He’s not there guy, they want more speed.
