Rumor: End of an era with Boeser and Canucks. Boeser: "Honestly its unlikely at this point (to re-sign)". Where does he go and for how much?

Some team is going to give this guy a 7 year deal for 7-8m and probably regret more than half of it. He’s Mike Hoffman 2.0 with some mileage on him.

Some of the best deals are the ones you never make but letting him walk for nothing is pretty dumb.
Understandable. Canucks had to save their cap space for core pieces like Hoglander and Joshua.

What core guys, not on their ELCs, get 3 mil AAV? Boeser is expecting at least 8 per and wants long term. Huge difference between a 9-12 mil contract (Hoglander and Joshua) and a 50-60 mil one.

no contender is signing boeser at 8 mil plus per. Chicago is likely his destination.

Minny has Faber contract starting next year, and kaprisov after next season. I doubt they commit to boeser at that price.

I can see boeser being one of the free agents going deep into the summer without a contract. He will get lowballed and hold out and eventually take a 6-6.5 mil per offer is how I see playing out

Detroit should be all over this to replace Tarasenko and sign Ehlers to replace Kane.
Not that I wouldn’t love Boeser to replace Tarasenko because he’s so bad… but doesn’t Boeser really need a play driver on his line to really succeed?

I don’t think we have that without another move

Bedard's wingers tonight are Oliver Moore and Ilya Mikheyev. Good chance that Boeser is pretty high on Chicago's UFA list.

You have Larkin and Kasper as C's. Boeser/Ehlers/DeBrincat/Raymond. That's a formidable top 6

I don't think anyone would have guessed the Canucks would miss the playoffs and he'd walk to FA.

40+ goal upside? And 8M with the Cap going up is peanuts

He's not really a consistent 40 goal scorer
He only scored 30 goal once, same year he scored 40 goals

Most of his career he's been a mid 20s goal guy

Which shocks me actually around the hype this guy gets.

8M is way too much for Boeser.

Even with the cap going up, most I would offer him is 5 years x 7m, and even that is a complete overpay. Dude can't drive a line himself, complete complimentary player who is sometimes invisible at best.

Debrusk signed a 7 year x 5.5m contract last season, and I don't see Boeser as any better of a player.

Sounds like he wants as much money as possible on his last contract of his career. Prob shoulda signed the offer from the Canucks earlier on. I feel like we dodged a bullet when he turned it down.
