Does he need to take a 1 year (7-8 million) prove it year? Sign with a good team or get promised to play with a top tier center at a discount? Or does he get a regrettable offer like Boston signing Lindholm?
I don't mean to speak for Vancouver fans, but I'm confident they'd say the following, or some variation of it: I don't give a damn.I mean he's the reason they are still selling tickets after a losing season
Let's not rush it, Don. The wiser we are the further we'll goBruins will sign everybody in summer. They pissed with tons of cap space.

How about he comes to Minnesota to stop by and have lunch with you and @Dr Jan Itor and then signs with Boston for 8 shortly afterHe can come to MN but not for 8
Back to back brutal off-seasons would be funny.Bruins will sign everybody in summer. They pissed with tons of cap space.
Elias lindholm has been red lot lately with pasta things are looking good there.Back to back brutal off-seasons would be funny.
My guess is that all three want their contracts to ultimately end at the same time. Jack has the longest deal in place with 5 years after this one. I expect Quinn to extend with Vancouver for three more years to match that. My guess is Luke wants to also sign for five but NJ will compromise with him for 6. All the brothers can reassess what they want to down the line and see if they want to play together somewhere. The only one of the three that has publicly been open about it is Jack who has said something to the effect that it would be nice someday. Five years in pro sports is an eternity and if Jack keeps wrecking his shoulder they won't be such a hot commodity as a group by then.![]()
Hughes feeling weight of Canucks' season: 'This year has been hard'
Being captain has made the 25-year-old feel acutely the sting of this National Hockey League season, which the Canucks began with Stanley Cup aspirations after Vancouver’s best season in a decade but will almost certainly end with the team missing the playoffs for the eighth time in 10 years.www.sportsnet.ca
Fresh off the printing press from yesterday, doesn't read exactly like a player who intends on walking from the organization, but good try.
As for the OP, I think he'll end up with a rebuilding type of team like what Toffoli did, or a Calgary
That is fineHow about he comes to Minnesota to stop by and have lunch with you and @Dr Jan Itor and then signs with Boston for 8 shortly after
Bruins must be racking up lots of wins.Elias lindholm has been red lot lately with pasta things are looking good there.
If Marner walks in the off-season this is a worthy Plan B for Toronto. Definitely a large delta between the two players, but him and Matthews seem to get along and if the Leafs can for once sign someone at a team friendly price the extra cap space would go a long way.
Something tells me he wants to play for an American team though after all the years in Vancouver
FA has been pretty absent and not as involved since the JR/Allvin hirings, trying to blame all the team's issues on him is getting old.I don't understand how anyone can believe losing a player for nothing is somehow better asset management even than getting a 2nd rounder, but here you are.
Also no one should believe we were only offered a 2nd rounder, even with our GM making such claims to save face, our owner clearly blocked the deal, he is clearly the problem.
Trading a fan favourite during losing season? Probably a owner decision lolWhy not trade him?
don't think it's about the money. I think he sees the writing on the wall for that team and wants outIm honestly shocked he turned down 8m, hes not an 8m player
Sorry I choose to live in reality, this keeps happening, with every management group, the only common denominator here is FA, but yah, sure, it's gotta be only management........FA has been pretty absent and not as involved since the JR/Allvin hirings, trying to blame all the team's issues on him is getting old.
