In an interview yesterday, Boeser says its unlikely at this point that he and the Canucks come to an agreement with a new contract.

Been a rollercoaster ride with Boeser and the Canucks. Canucks tried to trade him when the new management of Allvin and Rutherford came in a couple of years ago.No takers. Boeser then requested a trade and They even gave permission for Boeser's agent to seek a trade. no Takers. Boeser has a good season and rescinds the trade requests and says he wants to stay in Van long term. Van doesnt want to commit too long and offers 4,5,6 yr deals. Boeser declines. Management then is open to trading him at the trade deadline but the rumored best offer they got was a 2nd round pick.

Very Smart player, clutch, accurate shot.. Very slow skater and cannot carry a line on his own. He will need to play with a high level playmaking Centre to get the most out of his game.

So where does he sign this off-season and for how much. The Canucks reported best offer to Boeser that got turned down was 5-6 yrs at 8mil AAV.

Boeser is a good player but certainly not (imo) a core piece on a Cup level team. He's a supporting cast guy. Not too sure what his contract expectations are, but I think he’s in that 45-55 dollar range. So likely a 7 x 7 (maybe a touch more on the AAV) contract.

But it was so important to keep him at the deadline in a futile chase for 2 potential playoff home games, eh Aquaman? Idiot.

No, I think it was important for management to get the value they feel they deserve on a player.

The Rantanent situation kinda held up the market but if all the Canucks were getting offered was a 2nd round pick, which is a low ball offer, then I think the Canucks did the smart thing by rejecting it. The last thing you want as a management team is to get a reputation that you will crack under pressure and will take a low ball offer and can be bullied into a trade.

I think the Canucks are also a little but surprised that Boeser is not wiggling more and signing a shorter term 5-6 yr deal with them. Something they probably thought they can get Boeser to do.

I do agree though of not over-extending and paying too much AAV or term for a player like Boeser. He is a passenger. Canucks need to find more drivers.

Don’t exactly think that the past decade in Vancouver will go down as “the Boeser era.”

Youd be surprised. Boeser is LOVED in this city.

From following him to a National Championship with North Dakota, to a Calder worthy rookie year, to the death of his father, to his love for the city and community..

Detroit should be all over this to replace Tarasenko and sign Ehlers to replace Kane.

Will probably take 7 yrs 8-8.5 mil per. is Detroit willing to sign that for Boeser?

I definitely think Minny is on the top of his preferred destinations. Can also see a team like Tampa or Fla

That fits perfectly in their salary structure for their core. They do it easily.

They have 8.5 coming off the books just from retentions and UFA's they won't re-sign.

If you don’t get the 8 year max term from current team, you lose nothing going to market. Brock, like the guy and all the best to him but an 8 year term for someone with his skating is a risk.
See what he gets on the open market.

He wanted longer term. He will get $8m in free agency but wanted at least 6/7 years. Nucks only offered him 5 years if I recall.
thats baffling because hes paced not even hit, paced for 70 pts 3 times hes entire career, who evers paying him 8 is going to regret it

Terrible asset management not to trade his ass at the deadline.

ill take that, over being known as a soft management team that will give in to low ball offers and can be bullied into taking less than market value.

You take a 2nd round pick for Boeser you open yourself up to crappy offers in the future.

Stand firm, get what you want and feel you deserve, if you dont, move on and dont lose sleep over a missed a 2nd round pick which was reportedly the best offer for Boeser.

I think Boeser has a chance to carve out a Toffolli career. He will be overpaid though. I also think a team needs to make sure they have a player that can feed Boeser to maximize his production. I feel Boeser has a couple of 30-40 goal season ahead of him but his skating and pace are getting worse imo.
