That's an option, but I'm sure there are others out there. I mean, nobody really saw the Habs trading Barron for Carrier.Who would you have in mind? Olivier?

No one expected our right side to get as exposed as it did to start the year even with Savard. That's an option, but I'm sure there are others out there. I mean, nobody really saw the Habs trading Barron for Carrier.
He wasn’t a throw in. They wanted him specifically. Habs scouts liked him in the 2020 draft and had pick #47 and #48, Heineman went to florida at 43.Solid "throw in" in that trade!!
I'm aware of the picks the Habs had that year, IMO when you want a player that bad especially with back to back picks right after, you move up and select the player you really want, you don't let that get away for a 5th or 6th round pick along with either of 47-48 IMO...He wasn’t a throw in. Never said they wanted him ‘’that bad’’. They were interested. When he was an option in the Toffoli trade, they wanted him because they liked him previously.I'm aware of the picks the Habs had that year, IMO when you want a player that bad especially with back to back picks right after, you move up and select the player you really want, you don't let that get away for a 5th or 6th round pick along with either of 47-48 IMO...

Heineman is a good cautionary tales on a few things:
- Injuries can seriously delay/alter a player's development
- A player needs time to adjust to NHL and find their identity as a player (his previous call ups were nothing to write home about)
- it's important to leave roster spots for young players (for all the talk during the summer to sign a 4th line player)
- it's too early to write off a player at 22/23 years old, didn't check but I bet Heineman was outside top 12 and a big faller for prospect rankings
- seasons with no progress on stats front doesn't mean it's a wasted year in development (see Lehk as a prospect)
95% he doesNot until I hear Friedman say he only wants to play in Montreal.
forget the guy who put up 20 goals at 19, this 23 year old who might put up 25 goals in a couple years is light years aheadI know he’s 3 years older so this doesn’t matter too much yet, but he’s better than our first overall pick in every aspect of hockey. f*** did we ever have a pathetic year to get the first overall pick. So many other drafts gets franchise players and we end up with a guy who is a complete project that *might* turn out to be a a consistent top 6 player.
Anyways, this kid has been playing great. I think it’s a safe bet he ends up a 25 goal scorer for us. Great skater, always hustling, finishing his hits, nasty shot, fits nicely into the middle 6.
Nah, last year HF told me it was bad and that Heineman was crap. That Toffoli trade is starting to pay dividends.
He is playing mostly against bottom-sixers. Maybe they could use him with Laine and Dach or Newhook to see if he deserves more responsabilities.Heine has top6 written all over him. Perfect 2nd liner. There's really nothing about his game that is weak.

Well, now they someone said it, can we all pile on that guy like the savages many of us are ?Unhinged post
