Avs really need to give him his own theme song. I know they'd never lean into Cocaine by Clapton, but Big Balls by AC/DC somehow seems appropriate.

Like, what choice do the Stars have with Miro out but to play Lyubushkin? If they keep playing Lyubushkin on the top pairing I feel like the Avs might buy him a steak dinner
Guy has always been a loser. Roy knew it right away

Use the TDL to grab a defender who won’t sink your team if he plays 20min?Like, what choice do the Stars have with Miro out but to play Lyubushkin?
D depth is an Achilles heel in the POs for all teams. That’s why I wanted another RHD for the Avs.Not play him 21 minutes?![]()

I’d worry less if Manson could stay healthy but it’s a big ifD depth is an Achilles heel in the POs for all teams. That’s why I wanted another RHD for the Avs.
I mean, I get it. It was the first time in his career he'd scored 30 goals. I have little problem with the celebrition, honestly. To me, it's a nothing burger, and Roy overreacted. If he had scored 30 before, and did that, sure, then be pissed; but let the kid enjoy a big accomplishment in his career, on a team that was utter dogshit.I remember seeing that and thinking it wasn't that big a deal at the time but rewatching it now, man I agree with Roy, he celebrates way too much there
Yeah, I've noticed Nelson is one of those guys who does a lot of little things well and has a heavy, heavy shot. That line is going to work because Nichushkin/Drouin are creating while Nelson is either finishing or creating space in front of the net - just as he did on the Avs 2nd and 3rd goals today.
I think people are being foolish if they expect Nelson to dominate games on the 2nd line. He can be Mr. Complimentary and that is ok, because it's WAY more than what Mittelstadt was providing. I don't have any fear when Nelson is on the ice the way I did Mittelstadt.
The chemistry will come. For now, just let him get used to the system and new teammates after 12 seasons with the same organization.
I don't disagree, but it's two good games and three poor games for the newcomer. I consider today good because he was pretty pivotal on the 2nd and 4th goals, and played a role in the 3rd goal. Him/that line being on the ice for 3 of our 4 goals when it looked like MacKinnon wasn't flying the way he usually does is something Casey hadn't done for us since last season.I don’t expect him to dominate, I just expect a lot more.
He’ll need time to adjust so that’s all well and good. I also like all of the little things he’s doing. However, if he plays like this in the playoffs, the Avs are getting bounced round one. Plain and simple.
He’s not here to just do the little things and not be Casey Mittelstadt. He’s not here to be Carl Soderberg. He’s got about a month to get it together and hopefully he will.

I found it more interesting no Makar, tbh.
I guess it was meant to be the original crew before Cale came along.
More than any other player, Nichushkin is able to drive his own line away from MacK and gives teams a very difficult assignment matchup.
If you want your best D pair to focus on MacK, Nuke is going to feast on your weaker pairings.
Like @dahrougem2 said, he’s a complete hockey player. He lacks absolutely nothing.
When he’s on, opponents have to try and shut down MacK and Nuke for over 40 minutes of a 60 minute game. Good luck.
