Not getting anything close to Nic Roy for a huge Cap dump and a late 2nd round pick.

If the Coyotes trade Connauton, it'll be to open up a spot for Chychrun. They're not taking on Emelin's contract.

Dallas has the following D-men in the NHL on one-way deals: Klingberg, Oduya, Hamhuis, Benn, Oleksiak and Nemeth. There is not a need/fit on the roster for him.

Trading Gormley for Emelin would be like noticing a half-eaten burrito in the garbage can, then having some guy walk up to you and say "dude, I'll give you a buck for that".

Hab fans just don't get it and why we see so many trade proposals like this, no one will be doing the habs any favours by taking on Emelin, Markov or Desharnais and those kind, they are just cap dumps and no other team wants them.

Dallas doesn't want Emelin regardless of the price. Especially not moving a fan favorite for a guy who just blocks more kids from playing

Im not sure Arizona wants to pay 3 mil for a guy in the third pair (he is not an upgrade over OEL or Goligolski)

Canes don´t need more D-men, they got a bunch of just as good or better for a farction of that caphit.

Dallas would resigned Demers or Goligolski if they needed a D-man like Emerlin, and I doubt they wanna dump Roussel and get a player who cant take a spot.

Devils: why?

Don't think Emelin gets dealt in any of these. The Dallas one is horrible

The Habs lose every one of those deals. Extra cap space isn't very valuable when your GM will use it to give DD another mid-season extension, or give a 3 year deal to someone he found on waivers.

Markov.. cap dump.. funny

Agreed that Markov is far from a cap dump but its equally annoying as a non Habs fan to see Emelin forever being labelled a "top 4" D and always being offered up in trades.

I have never seen a top 4 D offered up so often by its teams fans as Emelin and the Habs

While true, I'm not even sure he's an upgrade on KConn either. He's definitely not role wise at any rate.

eesh, Why would Carolina want to give up a 6-4 RH center prospect with oddles of upside for a Dman they don't need and a second

Na i'd rather hold onto Emelin, he's been great in the preseason. He also played well last season.

I think adding Weber is gonna allow him to play his game more freely.

With a healthy lineup (Petry is now injured) the Habs top four is Weber-Beaulieu, Petry-Markov. If they are in the lineup that leaves Emelin to play on the bottom pairing. Now he may be overpaid to be a bottom pair defenceman but he will be in a position to succeed.

I'd much, much rather have Emelin than KConn. Having said that, the real issue is if we were going to spend an extra couple of million dollars (hahaha), I hope we'd spend it for a veteran forward before upgrading a guy that would ply his trade on the third pairing.

If we lose OEL or Goligoski for an extended period of time, I'd maybe revisit it.

op is bad for carolina

unlike most #hcanes fans, i actually like emelin, but he would be a bottom pair guy on this team

not giving up roy and a 2nd for a guy who will prolly play like 10 mins a nite
