Its easy to understand why hes not a starter when you have guys like Tarasov ahead of him. I mean he just held a dangerous Seattle team to 6 goals not counting the empty netter

In the NHL, the guy is putting up pretty average NHL numbers this year. He ranks 14/33 in sv% and 27/33 in gaa amongst goalies with at least 20gp. That ranks him around 20th overall,

Meanwhile the guy Columbus is starting ahead of him will rank 80/87 after tonight in sv% and 81/87 in gaa of any goalie to play this season

Them and Ottawa are battling it out for the award for the team who gives the least amount of f***s about playing anything resembling defense. I've never seen anything like it.

It's almost harder to allow as many goals as they do versus trying to stop teams from scoring 5 a game on lock

As a guy whose played goal his entire life, I’d send a goalie to the ECHL if he ever said put that crap energy out into the universe. He’s in the wrong position. You aren’t given anything as a goalie, you earn it. It comes with the territory.

2. Dolan loves the salary cap because Rangers print money every year with an either a good or bad roster. Results are not as important. Plus, he needs the $$$ to pay for his expensive sphere in Vegas.

His play is legit starter caliber on the Blue Jackets right now. He's outperforming half the starters in the league, he could play on any team.

His comments may rub people the wrong way, but from his stats he looks like at least a 1B starter. Put him behind a better team and I’m sure he’ll look even more like a starter. I can understand his frustration, and subsequent lashing out, if he’s currently the 3rd starter. He probably should’ve kept this behind closed doors though.

Hes been good on a horrible team. He faces 35+ shots on the regular and multiple times faced 20+ in the 3rd alone. Then look at Tarasov and Spencer's numbers and you can easily see why hes pissed at being the 3rd goalie. Jarmo and Vincent are actual morons, Merzlikins is not the bad guy in this story when you add even a fraction of context

Fair point but his attitude might be conceived as a problem but I think goalies are crazy to start with so.....
