I'd consider Makar for him plius all things considered

If he signed longterm deal

Makar is going to cost too much to keep soon enough and .may want to go home to Calgary

McDavid and MacKinnon are the only 2 centers better

We can only wish.

With the hole the Canucks opened up by buying off OEL this trade makes so much sense for both teams.

No - thank you. If you want the 3oa & 34oa then Laine is out
Are you calling me a Canucks fan? We already have the third.

It's not meant to be a serious proposal. I haven't really been in the "trade the top pick" camp since lottery drawing, but after learning that Allvin is a fan of Carlsson and possibly looking to move up from 11OA, I started pondering what would it take in theory to acquire both Pettersson and Canucks top pick.

That seems like a huge overpay
For whom? What would be a reasonable offer for EP+11OA?

No point for going for Petey + 11th overall. Petey alone is going to need an overpay, attaching #11 to him makes no sense for the Canucks given this would signal a tear down.

For discussion sake though, something like 3rd overall + Jiricek + Johnson is the only way you get Petey + 11th ovr.

From Detroit I would offer 17OA, our 1st in 2024, and BOS 1st in 2024.

I would also think hard about Kasper+17OA since I don't see Kasper hitting the same level as Pettersson.

I don't see Vancouver trading Pettersson and if they do the ask will be huge, unless it's at the deadline and it's known that he won't resign.

Now that you traded the 22nd pick I don’t see how you could make an offer for 11.
If CBJ sees a grade A prospect available at 11 that is more valuable to them than some of their own prospects, draft picks and players on the team, then anything should be possible?

I don’t see how anyone more valuable that Jiricek or Johnson would be available.

It seems so.

Offtopic: What would it take to get 11OA from Vancouver then? (with a condition Jiricek, Svozil, Johnson and 3OA are excluded)
Probably nothing the jackets can offer. The Canucks need high end prospect depth.

Would have to be something like ceulemans + 34th overall + something

Why would Canucks trade EP and 11th overall pick? Is someone Dumber than Jim Benning secretly running the team?
EP is untouchable

Depends if the poster thinks our GM can re-sign him (sure hope we can, I'd hate to have to change my username again...)

K’Andre Miller + Lafrenier + 23 1st + 23 2nd

Something along those lines and I’m not even sure that gets it done. Canucks would then probably try to package up their 1st + Rangers 1st and second to pickup a top Center in the draft to replace Pettersson, something like 3rd overall Leo Carlsson. Might even need to add a bit more to get to 3rd.

this is not peak EP yet, why trade him based on this current play? as long as the Sedins are here, the city remains as Swede-friendly like as it is, he will resign. He is untouchable, Hughes is possible to be pried.

Lol. No one wants to play in Calgary, let alone good players.
Also, he is from Calgary, he knows how much the town sucks. He isnt going back

C'mon man, we aren't trading EP for that package. It has to be a lateral move for another young 1st C

Let me see if I can get the hang of this:

Pettersson, Boeser and Garland

for

Hughes, Hughes and Nemec

The advantage for the Devils is Blah, Blah, Blah.

The reason why the Canucks would do this is because of Blah, Blah, Blah.

Somewhere on Uranus
Vancouver is continuing to snowball downhill, what incentive does Elias have to stay with the franchise past 2024? How much confidence is there in Elias actually signing a long-term extension? What is he valued at right now and what might his value be if he ends up requesting a trade? What teams do you think would move multiple assets to get him? This is an elite 1C and he now has a 102 point season in the books, what would it take Vancouver fans?

-$7,350,000 until 2024
