Moving this from the Fantasy GM Thread:
I agree, but then I still don't know if it was the team that insisted on the 10 games, Miller did, or a combination of both? Or if they crossed the Rubicon already? If there's a hint at reconciliation, I'd like to see it play out first by Miller's recommitment to the team.
I want to hear him say that he wants to stay.
I think it's personality and not age that keeps Pettersson here. He's not the bully.
Pettersson has had to hold his ground against Miller for 5 years. Horvat tried to do it and was traded. In 2024, JR-Allvin-Tocchet-Miller all tried to either call out or instigate Pettersson, via rumour or interview. And still this guy chooses to remain. Why does he do it? He's loyal.
This manager/coach/player all don't respect the severity of his injuries, to the point of calling out his preparation/calling him frail. The team is crap and they aren't winning. Their medical staff is a joke. And still he's committed. Lesser men would have told this organization to go fly a kite.
Give him the grace to get better with offseason training/healing. If he still isn't better, then look hard to seeing what can be done.
