EJ traded back to Colorado

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Ok I love this. EJ is cooked but he bleeds burgundy.
It's a no brain move. Givani Smith wore out his welcome with Bednar before his plane touched ground in Denver. I was actually impressed Bednar gave him as many games as he got.

Trading him, after rightfully sending him down to the AHL for the return of one of our most beloved leaders is a move that would have been criminal not to make.

Just like not brinigng JMFJ back in '23 would have been a terrible mistake. I'm just kinda sad the NHL doesn't go 5 pairs deep with defensemen. Would love to see not only the return of Girard and EJ but also BIG Johnson pair.

I know EJ was more of a Landeskog buddy than MacKinnon, but probably feels great for MacKinnon as well to get some old buddies back after losing Mikko

"he's gonna be the best guy in the room." 😍

This move is worth it alone if not just to help keep Nate in a positive mental state, when things aren't going well. Helps to keep him even keel which he knows is important for him. That's huge for this team in the playoffs.

Though Nate has been more of a positive leader himself since he and Gabe left. Outside the games with shitty refs which is basically all of them.

Hard not to like the culture move here. I’ll give cmac credit for a more positive than negative trade deadline. I think Avs overall are deeper more skilled, and leaning into that need for locker room leadership. Not necessarily perfect but also a very competitive market. Will be quite the next few games with this crew next week to get ready for Dallas and mikko the following Sun.

Caveat..... If it all works out. (Conf/SC finals run. Anything less is not acceptable now.)

And if it doesn't, you know how this Board will react.......
I know it says you didn't join until '08... but I know you have a depth of knowlege that goes much further than that.

What in the world would leave you to believe that even if we win the Stanley Cup this section of the board would be content?

That guy from the St. Louis Blues???

So, so true!! LOL! There are so many glass half empty people here occupying prime posting positions.

Win the Cup and many will say "but we mortgaged our future!!"

Don't win the Cup and more will be calling CMac every name under the Sun because... "you mortgaged our future....".

Sorry but I just can't see anyone being happy (esp MacK) once MacK's legs leave him and watching him turn into a defensive forward like Sakic became..... (Hell, I speculated that Joe put his hand in that snow blower deliberately as a retirement strategy........ lol)
