Ehlers Injured - Upper Body

He used his left arm to hop the boards. It's his right that was injured.

so he was able to use his injured arm to get the left side of his jersey off but couldn't use his left arm that he used to hop over the boards to get the right side off? like, how about we just wait until we get actual news about the injury instead of watching a 10 second clip where he is seen clapping and smiling I might add to access what type of injury he has...

I don't think even if he was hopped up on adrenaline he would use the arm that was injured to hop over the boards like that, didn't he also have both arms raised over his head on the way to the locker room, he also was smiling and clapping when he was taking off his jersey, for all we know his jersey got stuck on some of his equipment and he asked the trainer to pull it off, I don't think anything is clear from this video and we can't diagnose what type of injury he has from a 30 second video

As someone who has suffered a few bouts of whiplash including severe whiplash and now has chronic whiplash disorder I can tell you first hand that the symptoms don't always present themselves immediately...give it 4 to 24 hours for it to really set in...then everything stiffens up and the neck headaches start along with shoulder/uppper back/trap pain.
Really sucks...thankfully cilantro helps immensely as naproxen gives you ulcers.

Rewatched the Hartman hit. It's was to his left side after he which he falls on his left arm.

So you'd be correct in your initial response, his left arm was indeed used to hop the boards.

All that said, the force of that hit could have affected any area of the upper body. Ehlers leaves the ice initially clutching his head using both arms.

Maybe there's something to be said regarding needing help with his jersey, maybe not.

Nothing wrong with a little speculation, particularly with the track record this team has with our coaches understating the severity of injuries with the media. Didn't Ehlers miss half this season after Bones initially said it was day to day?

Any chance the league revisits the suspension if it’s a serious injury? I can’t recall the league ever doing this before..

We HAVE to have Ehlers in the lineup to have a chance to get out of the 1st round. He's huge for the Jets, and I hope he's alright. Likely if it was really serious like a broken rib, or collar bone, he would not have came back out on the bench. No different than a football player taking a hard hit ( receiver) and bouncing back up and playing. We all hope Nik is OK as we need him.

Also, looked to me that his jersey was already bunched around his elbow, it was already pulled over his shoulder. All the guy did was pull it from his arm. Nothing to clean from that at all imo.

Well, at least Hartman got his second suspension, in addition to the 6 times he has been fined, so surely he will change his ways and not target vulnerable players with predatory hits intended to injure them.

Yes it is, suspension should be as long as the player he injured is out plus 5 games!

Yikes. Well that is a clear shoulder injury then. Could be gone for a while.

Let’s hope it was just a brachial plexus heavy neuropraxia (“stinger on steroids”) and not a capsule tear or rotator cuff..
The pure nerve injuries tend to come back faster..

Perfect! I like that he’s taking the high road and not whining about the hit. That said, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go after Hartman the next time they play the wild. Nik has dropped the gloves a time or two.
