He had just turned 29 when he signed with the Oilers. So far he has outperformed the contract 3 years in a row and he is still climbing. He has only missed a dozen games so his knees appear to be doing just fine. Huge win for Holland. Huge loss for Shanny.

Leafs have to win tonight and tomorrow to have any kind of chance at home ice which is unrealistic. They basically have to go on a streak starting tonight.

As much as id like to think they can maybe get 2nd in the division ... it may be to their advantage to go into either Florida or Boston on the road and get a split and go from there.

As for tonight... I don't care if Hyman gets 50... maybe Matthews gets 60 with a hat trick and a 4-3 win ... ill take it. Really looking forward to a good game... hopefully tonight it goes down to the wire with some of the leagues best players.

Zack is getting PP there. Never got much here. McDavid also has Draisaitl to pass to. Perhaps Hyman is getting some of the goals Draisaitl would have, which may explain why he only has 35 so far this season.

Sure you and I could get 20 playing with McDavid but Zack > BJ IMO.

McCann, Hyman, Kapanen, Johnsson, Bunting, Mikheyev. Could make a pretty solid middle six out of guys who were less priortizied than kerfoot

he's outlived johsson as a player in the nhl, but I always have and will prefer that style of grindy + skill play johnsson brought as a leaf. We kept a guy who had averaged 30 points over those guys because "sWiSs ArMy-KnIfE".

I don't want to be the debby downer but this is another marquee matchup for matthews. Head-to-Head against Mcdavid. We saw Mackinnon and Pastrnak recently and it wasn't pretty, he was soft, purposeless and invisible. We need him to be much better, we need the washington matthews not the past month matthews

He can't back down and be passive again. We lose that way pretty easily. We need our best player to be our best player
