Highly recommend Gregor's new Business of Hockey segment with Rich Winters. I felt Winters was a bit of a taint but lots of great stories and insight into agent world.

This week (November 27) featuring Ken Holland is really good: November 27th, 2024 - Mike Rupp, Ken Holland, & Ken Reid - Jason Gregor
Honestly I like it, but either winter is a liar or did a lot of shady shit behind the scenes. Because the numbers that come out of his mouth and the numbers reported don’t always match

I get it that the magnitude of Elks/CFL stories pale in comparison around here to Oilers/NHL stuff. Still, it's interesting that it was broadcasting novice Jason Milne & former TSN 1260 host Hernan Salas who broke the news of 2 major EE signings (GM Ed Hervey & QB Tre Ford) recently. Those stories were broken on Edmonton Sports Talk, a still-young internet streaming radio station. Does that mean that Tom Gazzola (ex-Oilers TV) Reid Wilkins (ex-CHED), or former NHLers Joaquin Gage, Matt Kassian & Shawn Belle will be breaking big Oilers' moves on EST in the coming months? Probably not. However, it's nice to see a small local start-up operation get even a little bit of positive notoriety.

Both of those guys have strong connections to the Elks.

I enjoy Wilkins and Milne. They have good chemistry, but EST is still a pain in the ass to load in my vehicle, so I keep it locked on 1440.

Gregor is still one of the best interviewers in the country. His segment with Holland and Ritch winters was outstanding.

Hernan worked for the team very recently as the media relations guy, so he's going to have very inside contacts now for breaking anything.

I heard some schmuck talking to Lowetide ( his voice puts me to sleep, but my bluetooth wasn't synching to my car so I had to listen).

"I would say the Oilers defence is passable"

lol

Who are these guys? Has any of the limp dik cowards in this city brought up goaltending on the radio yet?

Do you not think the current defense is passable despite having really good metrics all year?

These days, I'm finding the best way to consume Gregor's terrific interviews is to pick and choose from the Archive Shows list on jasongregor.com. Given that, as an Oilers fan & proud Edmontonian, Ritch Winter has always annoyed me, I can admit that he's capable of being provocative/entertaining. However, I also recommend the XXXL-sized grain of salt if you do choose to listen to the guy.

Gregor is a great interviewer but it would be nice if he actually listened to the people he interviews when they answer his questions. 9 times out of 10 his "follow up" questions were answered already. Very annoying haha.

I find that issue has improved now that Gregor's show is live on YouTube. He seems to be aware that we can now see what he's up to while his guest is answering his question.

I don't listen to him much anymore but I always thought he was a bad interviewer as he was not pay attention to what the other person said. When he first started there were times where he had a chance to take it off script and further the conversation rather than keep checking his questions off.

Hopefully he has gotten.

Brownie has some golden Brownie point segments but this is a classic…

And my condolences to Rishaug on his pending marital problems. :)

LOL
