Jason Gregor's job in the media is to give opinions on the radio & on-line and he's been doing it for a long time with a ton of confidence (which some see as arrogance). That definitely opens him up to criticism - especially when he's blatantly proven wrong. As far as I'm concerned, as long as Jason's not spewing anything harmful, he can say and/or delete anything he wants. I have way more issues with many of his Sports1440 on-air staffing decisions than with the sometimes spicy opinions he gives on various platforms.
EST definitely has the better roster, but far less reach.

Less reach for sure, but as a dedicated sports talk listener, I'm happy to choose quality over convenience while I'm in my car. In my house, I stream both through IHeart so the reach thing is irrelevant there.

If one is into juvenile bullshit sports radio, EST is your place to listen

The balance between fun stuff and sports talk on EST is to my liking and I'm way too old to be considered juvenile. If one is into all-Oilers talk all the time, then it is not your place to listen.

Live in Vancouver and listen to EST every day, from 8am to the end of the day while WFH. They are great.C ompletely stopped listening to Spin Doctor Gregor, Oilers Nation. I sometimes get annoyed with certain people, but it's still genuine takes. Them and GYB are the only ones worth their salt.

Listening to Rachel Doerries spot on Lowetides show today. She’s just ripping our goaltending apart. It’s funny because LT spent so much time defending them and he loves Rachel, so he’s not shooting her down like all the media guys were to fans. He actually seems to agree with her. wtf was going on with these guys heading into the deadline? Nobody spends much time defending our goalies now, they were actually asking “who’s better than our goalies” a couple weeks ago lol

Oh wow... RIP Bruce

Bruce may have been one of only few Oiler media personalities that was never divisive.

He was great at blending analytics, eye test, old school hockey views, and new school hockey views into his analysis while always wearing his fandom for the team proudly without fear to allow it to influence such analysis.

Truly one of a kind.

Definitely one of the best imo.

I always felt he was honest and fair. He didn't criticize the team/organization/players un fairly while also not pandering to them.

If the Oilers stunk he'd say it. If the Oilers were good he'd say it. No agenda's.. just honest fair reporting.

Anyone remember when the cult of hockey pod started? I swear I listened to them pre mcdavid but I’m not sure that’s right.

I used to love their pod initially because they didn’t sugarcoat at all. I like Stauffer but he’d be Baghdad Bob sometimes and it was annoying. Bruce told it like it was and he’d get pissed off like we all do over bad games, he was a fan first and foremost and I really appreciated that.

Sad about this one and I never knew the man personally. That says a lot
