Why would he dive when he had Weber beat? He's got him totally turned around there. No reason to dive.

I think it is more of a muscle memory thing. Some players when they get someone's stick somewhere they are programmed to react that way to get the call. I sound crazy saying this but it's a thing I swear

Not a bad penalty to take.

No dive, but a pretty weak tripping call, the little flop when he got tied up with pleks on the other hand...

He has the defenseman turned around and would've gone in all alone when he goes down. Of course it's going to get called.

The refs haven't been kind lately but I've got no problem with that call. And if it was the other way all of us would have been fine with that call.

And yet it was far less than a trip. One more featherweight call against us, while a couple of much clearer infractions were ignored yesterday.

So basically if you even breath toward McDavid it's two minutes.

This is why I hate DD. Instead of racing to the boards to either pokecheck the puck, hit the Oiler going for it, or sticking to the boards to block the puck, he decided to slowly drift towards the puck, doing none of the above. Maybe a semi-pokecheck at most. No compete level whatsoever.

This is why speed kills these days. You draw so many more penalties and create more opportunities in general.

As strong as these guys are, I'm pretty sure the refs aren't used to seeing one handed backhand swipes of blade to shin pad knocking many guys over at this level... but McDavid... and Weber I guess.
